I worked at Burger King, my training was 5 seconds long and they just told me to look at what the other people are doing. I had no way of even knowing what goes on each burger without getting screamed at for asking someone. That was the first shift. All the equipment malfunctioned, buns stuck in the toaster, grill timers not working properly, and power outages were not uncommon as the building being leased usually couldn’t handle the load. Don’t blame the worker, blame the franchise. I went in to make money and did the best I possibly could under the conditions, Burger King has no reliable training and I really had to guess sometimes just to keep my job.

in fairness, one of the issues with restaurants, quality of workmanship ranges greatly between them, i can go to a taco bueno in one part of town and they are well oiled works great quality of the food is good and i can go to the otherside of town to on and they absolutely suck, workers are either lazy or are untrained with pos managers

Bk was my first job at age 16, and I knew immediately upon my first shift I never wanted that to be my life. I stuck it out for a year somehow. That was the absolute hardest I ever worked for the least amount of money, hands down.

Burger King should be ashamed of themselves for the huge drop in quality over the last 5-10 years. The service is terrible at every location too. I no longer go there. I just can't do their food anymore.

I agree. Used to love BK. Everyone one I go to is understaffed, 10 min waits, and just tastes bad. Every McDonalds is less than 5 min, much better prices, no mix ups, and just easier. I like McDonalds breakfast sandwiches but that’s all food wise so I’d say I’m not very biased

Half assed pay like Cynthia said... but also, as an ex-employee. You're encouraged to go as fast as possible, like most fast food places. Presentation is secondary. Just get it cooked and get it done. It takes 1 minute to cook like 8 whoppers in the broiler, no time at all if you get one from the heat lamp.

the last few times i got BK, there was hardly any mayo or ketchup, so this time i asked for extra, thinking, you know, if i dont ask for extra there's barely any, so if i do ask for extra it should be a normal amount :) i tried asking for extra and literally had to wipe off the patty and bun with a napkin, it was unbearable, BK makes me sad in my heart now

yeah mayo and ketchup amounts are very subjective depending on who is applying it. i understand your logic but what are the odds two people are going to use the exact amounts lol the first person waas probably in a hurry and the second person actually put extra. next time get it plain and apply yourself problem solved i do that everywhere after running into this problem a billion times

Well, the normal thing in every BK, and i have worked in them, is for the employees to clean EVERYTHING every night. I cleaned the broiler every night for the last 4 months, then we had to clean every single other thing we used, mopped and scratched the floor and every single area of the kitchen while the front workmates clean the dining area. We literally had to pick up every single sesame seed or we would get amonested...

As someone who worked at burger king, I can tell you they had the single bacon king added as a menu item for sheer convenience. People were always asking for one patty instead so, instead of having to click three buttons to take the patty off, they can hit the one button for the meal, or the burger.

When I was a working stiff, The Bacon King was a 'go too' for me at lunch. I have retired now for three years, haven't been back, and feel much better for it. The burgers were good, but too big, too many calories and you carb overload on them.

i once watched the futurama episode where fry gets a sandwich from a gas station and the mayo in it had some kind of parasitic life forms that fucked him up. saw it with my dad and pretty much immediately after we watched it, he took us out to burger king on request of my older sister. i was mid-teens at the time and i already didn't like their food, but i swear to god watching that episode and then seeing the mayo on the burger i ordered scarred me. i haven't ordered a burger from burger king since that day and i'm very happy to report that i have not regretted my decision seeing how horrible their food has become. reviewbrah peeling back that bun to expose the mayo made me sick to look at. thanks futurama for preventing me from ever eating there again.

Great title 👌 2 Burger King places opened up close to where I live. For about 3 months, the place was crazy busy and food quality was very high. Recently, service and quality have really suffered and staff are apathetic. They have decent menu items but last time it looked like my food was just thrown into the bag

The thing I noticed from burger king's ads is they show all the ingredents the burger will have in one side. So while it looks like its overflowing with bacon its because they are showing you that you will get 3 strips of bacon with it. The image shown would just have all 3 on 1/8th of the burger so you can see it all. The next time you see an promotion image of a sandwhich from burger king you will see be able to count everything you are suppose to get on the burger.

Yes. Yes they have. Everytime I convince myself to give them another shot, the fries taste and look like they've been cooked in the dirtiest oil possible. The burgers get mayo and ketchup totally slopped on. The lettuce is usually chunks of lesser quality parts of lettuce (think white stems and yellow/greenish leaf). You can just taste how bad the oil is when you have the onion rings. That's all you taste. It used to be McDonald's that had the worst quality, but to be honest, McDonald's is impressively consistent if you think about it. They've gotten much better which isn't saying alot because it still feels like I took 1 day of my life off everytime I eat there lol, but that's fast food in general to be fair. The best fast food restaurants imo are : Chick-fil-A Wendy's Taco Bell Honorable mentions fast(ish) foods: Chipotle Wawa

I recommend whataburger. It's mainly a Texas thing, but there are a few in Arizona and Oklahoma. Honestly the best fast food chain there is. If you ever go, the mushroom Swiss burger is incredible. But honestly, almost everything on their menu is.

@@lessalazar9068 Totally agree. I live in AZ and Whataburger is one of the better fast food burger chains (glad we have them here). Up there with 5 Guys and In-N-Out. Carl's Jr. (Hardee's) and Wendy's are pretty good too. I agree Burger King used to be good but has gone seriously down hill over the past 20-25 years. They were good in the 80s and into the 90s, then after that - not so much (loved a good Whopper as a kid back in the day). I've never been a fan of McDonald's burgers, but I like their fries and breakfast sandwiches. And I might get blasted for this, but Jack in the Box isn't always too bad. I like their sourdough burgers and ultimate cheeseburger. (And as for your comment about Whataburger's mushroom Swiss burger - I've always been partial to the green chile double myself).

Used to love a whopper burger and regularly ate them. Stopped after the last time I went and it was cold and dry and the bread was like polystyrene. Also I was in the queue for 1 hr and 20 mins .

They added their cheap burgers and didn't advertise for them. I think Burger King found itself after they changed their fries and did the Nickelodeon Slime and Rugrats watches. Then they fell off. They haven't done a decent chicken parmesean sandwich or actually stacked burger since then.

I hate it when I unwrap a burger to find half of the burger is outside the bun. Then you try to lift the bun to recenter it, and the bun rips apart because it is stuck to the cheese.
