The miniatures have hit it out of the park. The indexes are superior to 40k 10th edition. The only bad AoS index so far is Hedonites of Slaanesh. Spearhead looks more promising than Combat Patrol.

The big issue AOS has is they have so many factions that are like half an idea that wasn't followed through. Like especially the 1.0 factions like Kharadron, Idoneth, and Fyreslayers they barely have any models to choose from, they have more named HQs than actual generic units to pull from, and they only ever see play when they do something stupidly broken (looking at you Kharadron). Meanwhile Stormcast and Slaves to Darkness have more models than all other armies combined basically. How little attention some of these armies get makes me wonder if they too will be squatted because they're just an idea GW got bored with.

AOS has a cool model range.

Nurgle and idoneth feel like they are competing for top tier while hedonites are happily at home at the bottom of the edition (as usual). (Yes I am biased and have a hedonite army 😅)

If Jay is also the name of the battery in the camera I will blame it for the sudden cutoff.

Seems like most people are saying that the Temptation dice are too good for your opponent.

My group is freaking out about how the force construction rules now require (monetarily) expensive heroes, and to me it seems like a lateral move. Most players were already using thematically-appropriate heroes for their lists, and I can't think of an army that had more than a 3:1 ratio for units to heroes. Also eliminating Battleline means that GW only need to keep associated heroes & units in stock at any given moment instead of a core line of units per faction. That said, I won't be surprised if GW starts releasing Regiment boxes that have an entire thematic regiment that you can plunk into an army, which doesn't bode well for Spearhead as a format.

Just starting this, but they messed up Hedonites of Slaanesh for sure. Giving up a 12 inch charge is NOT compelling 😅

Any rumors going for Old World dwarfs dropping?

I'll save my overall thoughts for the next AoS video, but I hate what they've done with FEC. I don't care about how competitive they are. I'm upset because the entire flavor and theme of the army is the delusions. And now, in order to use the thing that defines the lore of FEC, you have to take Ushoran. That is so boring. It just takes so much of the fun out of army construction. Now it's like building an MtG deck, except your card pool only has, like, 20 cards.

I need to read all the core rules to understand any of it. I don’t play AoS at this time but man that launch box looks good. I recently started dabbling (for the second time) in that setting by picking up some Underworlds. I really like those teams a lot and with the new format I don’t need to go rushing around buying all the cards
