Don’t really agree. He talks about basically building 100% out of the draft that never works. The sens pro scouting has been horrendous under PD and pretty much everyone brought in has been a failure, but it does take bringing in the right guys from trades/free agents. He says if you’re looking at the right now you kill your future. Ok, but if you are only looking at the future the right now is never there too.

That’s what I say to that Ottawas rebuild has pretty much gone wrong. One thing we are lucky with is new ownership who hopefully know what they are doing.

I think they need to get in a new coach now. He can take a look at the team for the remainder of the year and get his input on what they will need for next year. The players can start to get use to him.

The Sens have too many players that are expected to put up points and not enough spots on the PP and the top 6 for them to all live up to expectations, so some of those guys cheat to try and get more points.. need a couple more 2 way forwards that are hard to play against and a good RH stay at home D to play with Chabot.. DeMelo was a great partner for Chabby, if we can get him as a UFA this summer that would be great

Would love to see DeMelo brought back into the fold. He was a great partner for Chabot. Analytically, he's a great defensive d-man!

Did Vegas build a winning team through the draft? Not talking expansion draft

I think Vegas is more of the exception than the rule. They got to take advantage of a LOT of GMs who had never dealt with an expansion draft before, which allowed them to acquire ample draft capital and, in-turn, prospects that they were then able to flip for roster upgrades. Plus, being in a high attraction destination means more players are willing to either sign there in free agency or waive their NTC to go there. Ottawa does not have that luxury.

It’s obvious now that Dorrion was never qualified for GM position. I see the Sens as a team that is rebuilding. These young men have no idea how to win.
