This looks great. Just got one complete after my first couple of sealed retail copies were missing bits as well. I'm thinking of repainting mine into a shinier, "newer" look, but definitely going to follow your lead with the dash, gunner's seat and interior - picking out those details really makes a huge difference.

Yours is nice. Mass produce it.. I hope Blitzway does something similar.

Nicely done with the painted headlights and all the other details on your 2nd one especially the proton pack details. My original one was way too dark and "well done" on the hood compared to how yours looks which doesn't look like it has any black at all. I've just used some paint remover and wipe all that black off the hood on mine and it looks way better!

Nice! Yeah, they seem to vary quite a bit from the factory with how much paint they spray on.

Great, you inspired me to do the same!! Just a question, how did you manage to paint the speedometer white with black markers??? I thought about carefullt removing the steering wheel than reattach it later?? Thank you!!
@LastBastian2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I just took the car apart, but left the steering wheel on. I carefully got a small brush in there for the white, then used a panel lining ink pen for the black marks.

Wow! would you take commission work to do this to mine!? haha

Nice. Was it difficult to take apart. I want to make it remote controlled like the R/C ecto
@LastBastian3 жыл бұрын
It was a little tricky. Take the screws out of the bottom, then start carefully pulling it apart. Some of the doors and such go together like a puzzle though, so keep track of it. Might help to snap pics as you go to make it easier to put back together. But if you are handy enough to convert it to rc, then I assume you can figure it out ok. 👍

Awesome job! What paints did you use?
@LastBastian3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Mostly Tamiya brand acrylic model paint, but the cheep hobby stuff could work for basic weathering/drybrushing. 👍

What paint brand and color did you use to paint the front grill and headlights?
@LastBastian3 жыл бұрын
I mix and match Testors and Tamiya brand acrylic brush on paints. For the front it's silver, and a mix of silver with flat black for a darker silver. A bit of clear blue dry brushed over silver for the headlights. Bit of yellow for the fog lights. Regular Tamiya medium brown dry brushed on, makes for a good rust color that matches pretty close to what they used at the toy factory.

Hey, I'm planning on to do a total custom paint 2 Star wars starfighter (from power of the force A-Wing and Mission fleet N-1) Do they really need priming If im using Tamiya spray paint? or Could I just spray paint it directly?
@LastBastian8 ай бұрын
If you clean well first, (with warm/hot soapy water, rinse thoroughly with hot water) then I find primer isn't needed. 👍
