I think B had the right ideas here. It'd be better to improve the 2nd and 3rd acts of the movie rather than just stretching out the 1st act where the audience is still unsure about the haunt's actual intent, because if you just keep stretching that mystery out with "ambiguous spooks" then the slasher movie audience that this film is trying to appeal to might start to get sick of it. Around the 30 minute mark was a good place to ramp up the stakes in my opinion. It's the 2nd half of the movie that really screams missed potential for me, i think this goes without saying, but having a slasher movie take place in a haunted house and then having almost every kill be delivered via gun or hammer is extremely disappointing during a first-time watch. It was probably the budget constraints that were to blame, but a little more creativity during the 2nd half would've massively decreased the disappointment I felt in my soul after the credits rolled. Also with the thing of every character constantly not disarming the very much still alive killers, I think it's even more egregious here, because there's multiple killers...why not just have the killers work together and save eachother rather than having the characters just spare them for no reason constantly? It would've been such an easy fix, like that's just absurd. Such a shame this movie lost it's footing so hard. It had such good ideas in the beginning, but then it's like they just sort gave up, stopped trying. Idk maybe the writers accidentally sneezed on the 2nd half of the finished script and they just filmed whatever what still readable through the snot. All I know is that something went wrong, and it's a real shame.
