Really cold week in the single digits but that didn’t stop us. After busting through several feet of frozen ground we got into some nice pockets of bottles. Hope you enjoy our winter wonderland adventure, and the finds.

Hey guys, great finds, and enjoy your channel immensely. I live in Catonsville (Baltimore County) Maryland. And I have been bottle hunting since 1983. You guys uncovered a Caton Spring Water Company bottle in this episode. The Caton Spring Water Company was located on Edmonson Avenue near I 695 in Catonsville. Named after the founder of Catonsville, Richard Caton (who was also the son in law of Charles Carroll, the signer of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution from Maryland). The bottling works sat on top of an artesian well that had natural effervescence. They added flavors to the water. And with the taste test, on the seventh flavor, a lemon lime flavor, a tester gave two thumbs up. This is where 7Up actually started. And about a half mile away, another soda company was started in Catonsville at 28 Bloomsbury Avenue, Frostie Root Beer. The Caton Spring Water moniker disappeared in the 1930s. Your version was from about 1904 to about 1914. Hope this helps.

The spoon could be coin silver, not marked by the maker. I've found it at estate sales and they think just because it isn't marked sterling, that's it's plate but, that's not always the case. So check your spoon to see if it is coin silver. Keep a diggin' boys! I love it! Be Blessed. God is so GOOD!

Pond’s Bitters “Makes You Go Some” The story here is about three related Chicago-sold bitters. The first is Lash’s Bitters from California which inspired Rex Bitters and Pond’s Bitters, the subject of this post. Pond’s Bitters was a direct competitor of their Windy City rival, Rex Bitters. These were primarily bitters sold as a laxative and ‘a permanent cure for constipation’ but contained quite a bit of alcohol. Pond's Bitters Company In 1909, George M. Pond left Lash's and formed his own firm, Pond's Bitters Company at 147 Fulton Street in Chicago.

The frame with the handle and the plate in it , would have been a mirror and the plate would have been the back side and most likely would have had a scene painted on it. Also the round lense you found was most definetly a lense from sunglasses. Benfranklin had atleast one pair of his own.

I have a good amount of bottles that my Dad and Mom, family dug in the 70's. We did everything, metal detected, arrow head hunted, bottle dug, hunted, fished, trapped etc. They were some good times. We found a few poison bottles back then. I have one I just located in the buckets of bottles in my garage. Small brown pill bottle P.D. co. 562. Just wondering what it is. I know you guys or Dave Beeler would be the ones to ask. Love all your videos, but really enjoy the privy digs the most. Take care!
