In this video we're going to have some fun with waterslide decals that you can print with your laser or inkjet printer. Easy and fast to use. We are going to use them on mugs and ceramic tiles.

Hi Rix, greetings from Italy. One question regarding the decals on the cups. Isn't it better to apply a final coat to protect the decals from accidental removal? Are the decal already well fixed on ceramic? And can we put them in dishwasher? Thanks in advance

Greetings! The decals are well affixed, but only for display. If you want to put it through harsh conditions, then you absolutely want to protect it with something. What that will be depends on the application, and something I would research.

Hi Rix, Would you be able to use these transfers on dvds after the foil has been removed from the disc's. Just a thought, it may be an interesting experiment to try. Thanks for the entertainment and info you have past on to us.

Sorry, I had answered your question originally as if this was a transfer paper video. I think the decals will transfer over, but I don't know how well it will hold or for how long. For one thing, you won't be able to 'heat' treat it as you would with ceramics. If you plan on putting in your computer, I wouldn't.

What model laser printer and inkjet printers did you use, and can you tell which printed better?

I personally like Laser prints. HP Color Laserjet Pro M254DW and Epson Artisan 1430 inkjet.

Hey thx for this video! Question... with the clear for laser, will anything in the image that's white be clear as well and show whatever you're adhering it to thru?

Yes. Unless you have one of those really expensive lasers that print white.

@Image Transfers with Rix thx so much for your reply! What if it's an off white or tan/skin tone, and I'm applying to the back of a dark surface?

@@kittenleo28 Anything that is close to being white will allow the background to show through. So off white definitely will show the dark surface through it. Tan might allow some of that dark to show through, etc. Keep in mind that it all depends on the OPACITY of your laser colors. If you transfer onto a dark surface and the toner print layer is 'thin', you are likely to get dark bleed thru the color. May not look nice and bright, but dull.
