Well, nobody is perfect and I’m a prime example. Check out this weeks video to see what I screwed up this time.

Very enjoyable indeed, Carl. The smell is indeed one of the best things about making hay.

I grew up raking hay with the Oliver and it has always been one of my favorite smells.

Ime with you re the hay smell, when I were a boy , 😂, way back in the 1960s, we used to do hay on tractors with no cabs, so you got the full experience, I loved it. Greetings from AUS. 👍

Yeah it’s pretty hard to beat raking hay with no cab!

Thanks for the quality videos and more for the stories of your life. I’m not a farmer but do love the smell of freshly mown hay!

A bath of 28%, just what the doctor ordered for open cuts and sores🙂. Liked the upscale replacement attire.

It is so rare to see cultivation getting done. Everybody wants to spray and spray some more then get irate about herbicide resistance

I got a good soaking with 28% once from a nurse truck once. Ruined the leather belt I was wearing and clothes were a sticky mess.

So far my boots have taking it pretty well. I don’t think I’ll do it again though.

When I did my coast to coast bicycle tour, I went through an ares where there were lots of alfalfa fields. I loved when a truck full of alfalfa bales would pass me on the road. The smell was immensely satisfying. It made me wish I could have camped in a freshly cut alfalfa field.

Loved the video I am close to your age and here in Central Ohio I haven't seen a cultivator in years my grandfather owned one when I was a kid but that was the last time I have seen one in action. Looking forward to the next video

Thanks Matthew! Most people around here only get them out for volunteer corn problems. Once you start cultivating it’s hard to stop 😂

There is nothing that smells as sweet as fresh hay. Glad you didn't get baptized in anything worse than nitrogen. Thank you for sharing the great video. It brings back a lot of memories for me. Stay safe and God bless.

Another good update, Carl. I sure would like to visualize the inner workings of the baler machine. There must be a bunch of moving parts. How is your moisture there? We, in northern Illinois are moderately dry with not much rain in the forecast. You know, I am cheering for you!
@dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206 Жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea! I should do a little segment on how a baler works. Things are looking great here right now. Plenty of moisture to get through pollination.
