Hey I liked the name of your channel a lot so I went in to watch your content. Sadly I think the first step on fixing Disney Star Wars is to get rid of the sequels but I appreciate the effort very much.

I was excited like everyone else until I left the theater and realized I was pissed because the trio was never going to be together again. After a year I was trying to convince my friends and family it was terrible. And before TLJ I was already writing my own version of it which included Boba Fett.

In around 2012 when they announced Jar Jar was gonna direct I went “Oh no! They’ve ruined Star Wars.” And since 2012 I was depressed, telling everyone that Jar Jar Abrams is gonna ruin it. Then Jar Jar Abrams was screaming it loud “Mark Hamill is in this one!!” “Everyone is returning!!” I thought, well it might be bad, but at least we could see all 3 together again. I mean it didn’t even cross my mind that they would not even be in one single shot together. I didn’t think someone should ruin Star Wars more than George Lucas, and I was proven wrong. The prequels are now masterpieces. Why did people like you not know Jar Jar Abrams was a horrible director? He ruined Lost, Fringe, Mission Impossible III, and Star Trek. so we're just not using our imaginations at all, anymore, huh? we need to SEE it EXACTLY the way we want it to be, regardless of mediums or storytelling. it's not enough to contemplate the story in your head and make the connections....you need to SEE the same damn face to connect the character to the story. just let it go. old movies, different actor. next thing in life, please. no more Frankenstein edits.

While it’s true that we can just “use our imagination”, seeing it with your eyes makes it feel all the more real.

Likewise. This is how Anakin is meant to look at age 46, not the appearance of an elderly man. It does give a convincing feeling that the original and prequel trilogies are very much connected with one another.

I'm guessing that was George's intention when he made Hayden's ghost in Ep VI

Not a chance.. that’s a horrible idea... every time I’ve watched this movie the past couple years I’ve cried when darth Vader dies but if it was Hayden especially now after all these years I’d laugh honestly

They totally could have filmed new shots with Hayden for the DVD release changes. Everyshot we see Vader's face, Luke's is conveniently not visible. Totally could have reshot them.

I was one of those. I've grown since then. Seeing Haden as Vader would be awesome. Even this felt awesome! Hit me harder now then the og movies. It's Vaders real voice to me now.

It's always so tragic when someone falls, especially someone with so much obvious potential like Anakin. However, the joy is knowing that in the end he was redeemed! Redemption stories are the best because they are so close to reality. We all need redemption ♥️

@@ALivingFlame redemption is great and all but to me Anakin was way beyond that point. He took many innocent lives uncluding children. Hitler is not deserving of redemption, nor is Anakin.

George Lucas even said that Anakin never ceased to be the Chosen One even though he fell to the Dark Side in order to fulfill the prophecy in the end. I pity you that you can't empathize enough with characters like this to correctly interpret the intent behind the writing and only see the black and white without any of the deeper palette of humanity.

As some have said before, Obi-Wan destroyed one side of Vader's helmet, Ahsoka destroyed another, but only Luke could take the helmet off.

Alot of people were mad at the time because it seemed like a major diss to the original actor of "Old Anakin" (Sebastian Shaw), who originally only had 2 scenes in the original trilogy..which now got cut to just 1 (helmet reveal). I also liked the idea of seeing "Old Anakin" as a ghost, as if he never joined the dark side...instead it felt like he was "reset" to pre-Vader. Not to mention you had Original Trilogy fans who didn't like the prequels and wanted to keep the trilogies separate. I would also say that the actual footage of Hayden as the ghost was not so flattering (his face was a little creepy...to me anyways) and I would actually be for them "updating" it to use current footage of Hayden, having a similar look to "Old Anakin" (I just came off watching the Obi Wan series and I sought out this video, just out of curiosity). But most importantly, I think if Lucas had made the original versions more available then fans of the prequels could enjoy the new ending and original trilogy purists could enjoy the old ending...even though LucasFilm did release theatrical cuts in 2006 as a bonus disc, I really wish Disney would have both versions available (not unlike how you can get different versions of Blade Runner).

Considering how old the quality was with the 1980s films compared to the films from the early 2000s, I'm pretty sure it would've looked a bit jarring if that would be done. I DO agree with you tho. XD

Because they didnt need to. The casting of Hayden was so good that you can buy him as a young Sebastian Shaw. And this deepfake shows how good it was because he really doesnt look or sound that much different.

@@michaeldunlap1032 Um, the film quality of this movie has since been cleaned to look more clearer and they could always film the new scene in the style of the 1980s camera if need be to get the consistency right. That wouldn't be needed though as they filmed new scenes twenty years later for the original movies and the quality difference is not noticeable since the negatives were restored and tweaked to look updated. So there would be nothing jarring between the old footage here and new footage twenty years later if they were to redo this scene over as well.

It looks so jarring, even if the film is clean. Heck, jabba in ANH is WAY more high quality than the rest of the people. My point is, it'll look way too jarring even if they did replace the actor.

@Mr Spinner Why make it with David Prowse, that would be completely pointless, because it would not make any canonical sense. Darth Vader is meant to look like Anakin Skywalker which is Hayden Christensen. David Prowse was only ever the physical embodiment of Darth Vader.

I agree but Deepfake technology is a fairly 'new' thing (at least compared to what is possible now). I know they did it back in 94 with The Crow but the technology has just recently matured to a level which makes the illusion almost believable.

@@LotRFanFilm you're very welcome tbh this all started on my old laptop which had a terrible gpu and used cpu and would take 1 month just to make one version of this df but then the laptop got ruined by some water leaking so I bought another laptop with an rtx 2070 maxq and training one video went from a month to 2 days due to the great gpu but deepfacelab couldn't deepfake Hayden's face on to vader properly I made different variations of the video with different options and different resolutions and this fellow wonderful youtuber matched all the masks into 1 vid and it came out amazing honestly this was both great and painful to work on

As cool as this video is, I much prefer Sebastian Shaw as the more prematurely aged Vader.

Yeah... probably for the shots where you see Anakin's faces while using the double for Luke when his face isn't scene but keep the Mark Hamel shots when seeing his face.

Sebastian Shaw was around 77 years old in 1982 when he shot the scene. He was 9 years OLDER than Alec Guinness.

I agree in a way but if they’re going to add the likes of Hayden, Ewan etc they need to leave the original recordings there as an option to watch too. After all, the actors who first appeared in 1977 are the ones who brought the franchise to life.

We will possibly get more force Ghost Hayden in the Ahsoka series. Hayden is part of the cast. Unless he's only there for flashbacks...I think George Lucas meant to use Hayden as a force ghost if he made sequels to the OT.

What? the whole point of Vader in the OT is that you never get a good glance of his face which leaves some to either believe he may either be a droid or a person under the suit until the reveal.
