I WAS THE DOCTOR!!!! 27/5/2023 will be kept in my heart forever, i enjoyed it so much. It IS truth that performing changes your life Edit: ofc im not the one in the video ._. I was the doctor but in other matilda production, damn 7 months, i miss the cast 😭

You are correct. There is a change. This is not the full original song. They cut (both in London and Broadway) a whole section from the parents, that should have started at 7:08. This is the part where the parents should be singing "why do bad things always happen to good people" etc. They put back a part of it in the new movie, though.

They didn’t cut anything they just added that part to the movie

@@itzsarah2415 No, actually! That part was part of the original Stratford version of the show/the cast recording. When the show moved to the West End, that part was cut and replaced with the part that's in the Broadway production and cast recording.

@@empty.chair.vfx. Very small changes are made but it mostly has to do with cultural preferences that just make it more suited for audiences in America. For example in the original musical the lyrics "might he be a little brighter than the norm, I know to boys it's frightful form." gets changed to ”Might she be a little brighter than her class? Oh yes she’s definitely advanced!”

I think these lyrics are just the original London ones - they're the same as the cast recording as far as I can tell. Are you confusing them with the Broadway version?
