Not many people talk about the symbolism between charlie and alastor Alastor represents the idea of just accepting things are the way they are. And gaming the system or standing above it Charlie represents an individual's ambition nearing naivity, a person that believes things can change, that the impossible is possible. Is it rational to be irrational?

A bit of background info, that is considered canon: - Charlie is the daughter of Lucifer Magne and Lilith Magne. Unlike the other demons in the show she didnt land in hell for sins but was born there and just happened to grow into a compassionate person - the reason why she tries to end the yearly cleanse of demon souls imposed on them by angels with their heavenly weapons (the only means, by which a demon can be killed). As other commentors have already mentioned she is in a relationship with Vaggie and also bi-sexual. - Angel Dust was born into a New York crime family in life. He died in 1947 following an overdose of the drug PCP which is the reason for his name. - Alastor was a radio host and serial killer in Louisiana in life. He died in 1933. - Husker fought in the Vietnam war. - Sir Pentious was a Victorian era super-villain. He was and remains to be a genius when it comes to building and operating machines. Background info that isn't officially confirmed and subject to speculation: - Vaggie is Salvatorian and died in 2014 (canon). Her death is speculated to be the result of a hate crime against her because of her homosexuality. - Niffty is speculated to have died of an illness at a young age, resulting in her being very concerned about cleanliness. Her dying at a young age is also probably the reason she mistook Angel Dust for a woman, since she probably never learned about crossdressing etc. - Tom Trench is speculated to have been a soldier in WW I. His last name is an allusion to the trench wars where he probably met his end to a mustard gas attack.

So far the backstory is that Alastor was a serial killer and radio star from New Orleans back in the 20s and 30s, and dislikes dogs because they had some role in his death (personally I think he's annoyed he didn't get the publicity of dying in the electric chair) and he always smiles because he thinks it shows power over everyone else. Angel Dust was born into a crime family, liked his sister but didn't really like his dad, died from an overdose of angel dust in the 40s (which is how he got his new name), is genuinely best friends with Cherri Bomb, and has a pet pig he calls Fat Nuggets. Rumour has it that Vaggie was a prostitute in real life and only died a few years ago. Apparently the angels in this show are really judgemental. Nifty we're pretty sure was a 50s house-wife or at least wanted to be a housewife. She's basically 5 cleaning-crews in 1, and I think that if she took a day off she'd have a mental breakdown like Dexters mum in the Mother's Day episode of 'Dexter's Lab'.

I really like the background jokes. Like the sign above the drug vendor.

The hazbin crew are some of the best people. One of their clean-up artist did a charity livestream to donate money to cats in need and they destroy their goal in hours. (I think their goal was supposed to be the lower end of 1K as there was a few other streamers doing the same but they more or less got to around 5-10K in donations.(I will make a edit when I look it up.) *EDIT* The goal was 5K but they got 23,791$.

In case the comment section hasn't informed you yet, this was (to my knowledge) a 100% internet-community-made project, all the voice actors/singers and maybe animators are people from all around the world working together over the internet, i know the singer is, she makes covers for disney songs or something, yeah it's an incredibly looking and sounding project that feels high budget despite the size of the crew and the nature of this project

35:03 As someone who hangs out on the Hazbin Hotel subreddit, can confirm. There are so many fucking memes. And fanart. There's a lot of fanart. But it's mostly memes. I swear to god almost every scene (and especially smear frames) have had at least one meme format made out of them. There's also a playlist with 149 videos (and it's missing a pretty decent amount) of animations/animaniacs from Livestream highlights, and some of them are *really* well done

Just some facts: 1. Alastor - in Greek mythology, he is a spirit of vengeance for crimes, who prosecuted the one who committed the crime and, as a consequence, imposed a deserved punishment Today's figurative meaning: A villain defiled by an unpardonable crime 2. Alastor claims that he hasn't been as entertained as he was during Charlie's musical number since the Stock Market Crash of 1929. Then people were eaven selling their own kids. "So many orphants" 3. Alastor was a radio guy and a serial killer. He got shot in 1933 by a hunter couse he got mistaken by a deer (that's why he has deer horns and has traces of deer at the bottom of his feet). Creator of the show also said that he does not like dogs due to the incident that causes his dead so many people asume that the hunter also had a dog. (Original charakter that was created long ago in middle school by Viz and had a name Alastor was actually a demonic deer very afraid of dogs, but Viz changed it to better fitt Hazbin Hotel cartoon) 4. Alastor believes that smiling is a sign of superiority whitch is why he always smiles (Seriously ALWAYS you never see him without a smile). 5. Alastor is asexual, Charlie is bi, Vaggie is lesbian, Angel Dust is gay. 6. Sir Pentious died in the late 1800s and that's why he doesn't understand the sex jokes. 7. Charlie was born in hell. She is a doughter of Lucifer and Lilith (the jewish mythical wife that Adam had before Eve, she tried to betraied God and she got sent to Hell) 8. The cleanse thing is when angels come to hell to erase some of the people due to overpopulation issue. 9. You can't die in hell. You will be just reborn again in hell. You can be erased tho. This can be made only with the angel weapon. Its a spear. You can see them at the beggining when they showed some angels. Also Vaggie have one. That's the one that she aimed in Alastor direction when he came to Hotel. 10. The song that plays when Alastor kills Sir Pentious is called "Sir Pentious f***ing dies". 11. Born into a crime family in New York, Angel Dust's human self died in 1947 following an overdose of phencyclidine (PCP), hence his namesake down in Hell. Since arriving in the underworld, his work for Valentino's studio allowed him to become the biggest adult film superstar in Hell, drowning out his world with narcotics and his twisted sense of humor. 12. Vaggie died in 2014 so she is there shorter than everyone else. 13. Razzle and Dazzle (the two creatures that we can see while they are playing music during Charlies song) were once Charlie's dolls that were brought to life by her father who were then given the task of becoming her personal bodyguards. They can play musical instruments such as the harp, piano, bagpipes, xylophones, and accordions. According to Vivziepop, Razzle and Dazzle both have a full demon form when angered, or someone harms/tries to harm Charlie, though it is yet to be revealed. 14. Charlie can easily switch to her demon form as we can see during her song. 15. Alastor is not a fan of modern technology and doesn't like using any technology that was invented after he died.

I'm surprised that you guys as sound-crew people (apologies if I'm mislabelling y'all) didn't comment on Alastor's radio voice. I'm sure you all probably noticed it, of course, but I was anticipating a comment on it. Also, funny that Mary mentioned Invader Zim. When (not "if," I hope) you watch Helluva Boss, if you haven't already, know that Richard Horvitz, the voice of Zim as well as Billy from Billy and Mandy, voices a few of the characters.

If you look at the creator’s comics and art, Alastor is actually based off a deer. He has horns, his hair is shaped like ears, and the patterns on the soles of his shoes look like hooves. (There’s some theories about him burying people out in the woods, being mistaken for a deer and shot (he has an x on his forehead), and then his body was eaten by dogs so no one knew he died. He was a famous serial killer and radio host, so dying in anonymity is why he hates dogs now, and dying by being mistaken for a deer is why he is deer themed.) (Also, according to the creator, and some other fan theories, he’s from New Orleans and may have been a voodoo practitioner, which is why he can make deals for souls in hell, which is why he’s so strong.)

Had an idea a while ago for a possible client. A knight from Brunswick who died all the way back in the Second Crusade, and who very much backs up Charlie's dream. Problem is, he is STILL suffering from the sins that landed him in Hell in the first place - racism, homophobia, and HORRIFYING anger issues. One of the demons on the turf he's protecting points out that the fact that he "only" punches the lights out of people who mistake him for a hellhound means he's improving.
