​@@MacaroniJudasshe never had a choice. By that point she had 3 children by Aegon, the king for the greens. How could she turn colours at that point? Like the blacks would never accept her or Aegon's heirs on their side. Btw the characters in ASOIAF are very complex and there will always be characters you like that come from groups or houses you despise. Are you new to this world or what? Liking Haelena or even Daeron doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. These are morally good characters but have zero influence. It comes down to if you support Daemon and Rhaenyra vs Aegon and Alicent. These are the people with actual power. Who would you prefer to rule?

That phrase has nothing to do with Aemond. On the day Helaena committed suicide her dragon, Dreamfyre rose up and broke her chains. Helaena had been riding her since she was 11. Dragonslayers came in the kill her and 2 other dragons and before she died the dragonslayers had put out one of her eyes. Mad with grief and rage she killed scores of men before they finally took her life.

She was the same on The Last Kingdom as Aelfwynn. Quiet, sweet, gentle etc. A very similar character. How lucky for her for her first two shows being two massive shows with mega followings based of hugely loved book series...And they even are kind of in the same type of age of civilization with the same dresses and dudes being in armor and carrying longswords.

Helaena isn’t a dreamer in the book. This is an original idea specifically for the show.

More like a path has been laid at some point that make what will come now unchangable, and the future is already set after that path is taken, and then its when they see the future (but it's always vague, like the future itself).

Haelena's advices were not taken so they suffered

She says those things shortly before it happens. What leads to believe that some decitions they make in the present impacts the future to something laid in a path that is unavoidable.

GRRM loves self-fulfilling prophecies. As in a character is given a prophecy (usually just a small piece of what will happen) and do everything in their power to avoid it only for those actions to cause the prophecy to happen in a way the character doesn’t expect. We see this most clearly with Cersei in the fourth book. She’s told that her children will die, a younger more beautiful person will strike her down and take everything she loves, and that her little brother will strangle her to death once she’s felt that ultimate misery. She interprets this to mean that Margaery will ruin her life so she takes drastic actions to stop the Tyrells from gaining power, giving The Faith an army so she can accuse Margaery of extramarital affairs and get her executed. But this turns on her and SHE ends up imprisoned and Margaery gets away almost scot free. Then she mistreats Tyrion because she thinks he’ll murder her and her children, but Jaime is her younger brother as well, being the younger twin. The younger more beautiful person might be Brienne or Arianne Martell most likely, but theories differ.

Prophecies don't necessarily mean that the visions will happen. Some do, some don't. Dany saw prophecies that happened (Red Wedding) and prophecies that never did and never will happen (her son being the Stallion that Mounts the World). They are possibilities. Things that may or may not happen... and sometimes people bring doom to themselves trying to make prophecies work (Sommerhall) or not (Cersei's valonqar prophecy, her actions to avoid it end up making both her younger brothers hate her, not to mention the way she raised her kids, causing their deaths).

i think one of the heartbreaking themes they're gonna push is how the kids got caught up in their parent's bs. i felt like they really hit home with that during the dinner scene. like these poor kids are all victims of their parent's bs. its even more heartbreaking knowing what young Alicent went through with Otto and how she's repeating the cycle.

Aemond being bullied is a show invention as Jace and Luke were on Dragonstone. Alicent leaving Viserys body to rot away for days on end… not in the show. Alicent convincing Aegon to kill Rhaenyra… while show Alicent says “reluctance to kill is not a weakness” and tries to spare Rhaenyra.
