The fact that the daughter in law is sitting so quietly and not basking in the fact that Dr Phil is on her side, just shows how broken she is over this situation. "I don't want to say any names, but Theresa"... proves the point that the mom knows she shouldn't say things, but says them just to wound the daughter in law. She knows what she's doing and does so with an evil grin. Disgusting.

@@Layput Yes I’m sure it was. But this episode was aired over 15 yrs ago. I was in college at the time that I saw this episode and my nieces and nephews weren’t even born yet and there in there teens now. Also… look how much younger Dr. Phil looks compared to the last couple of years. 🤔🤔🤔

When I separated prior to the divorce, I remained in the house with the two children. My mother-in-law owned the house. I asked/told my husband I needed to save money to be able to move out. He agreed. One of the things that came up later was how angry my mil was that she wasn't getting paid the house payment. My thought was, why wasn't her son making or expected to be making the payment. He was totally irresponsible, even thinking he shouldn't have to pay child support cause I made more money! I made $38,000 & he made $36,000. Wonderful mom ma's boy!

“I have these stuff for free and I’m living a pretty good life…” He obviously wants to keep living off his mom. The woman who is staying with him also wants to continue living off his mom because she sees him and how her boyfriend/husband acts but wants to complain instead of leaving him. The cost of luxury and that lifestyle is verbal abuse and a meddlesome in-law. Take it or leave it.

I mean, it's not really the wife's house. It seems 90% of their items belongs to the mother in law because she bought it. Therefore she feels she has power and entitlement.
