Agreed, but it’s easy to forget that Derrick Henry struggled a lot those first couple years; it wasn’t until that crazy Jags game where he really came into his own

Henry seemed like he couldn't really figure it out early, I think he lacked some confidence. He's an AD type of guy who needs to be fed the ball over and over and over until he wears the defense down and things start to click for him. He really went to the next level once Murray was out of the picture. He's put up 1000 yard seasons and new career highs in every rushing category since he got the starting job in 2018.

Actually, Derrick hadn't come into his own just yet. A heart to heart with Eddie George inspired him and changed the way he approached the game. The rest, as they say, is history.

The o line had Nothing to do with his moves in the secondary. Great blocks by the receivers but awesome cuts so subtle you’ll miss them like the corners did

As much fun as those times were, and they are my favorite memories as a cowboys fan, I still get flashbacks of hte no catch ruling and how it ended the season. ugh

Jerry didn't get what he paid for. Dez Bryant was a head case dating back to his college days at Oklahoma State. Jerry bought "trouble" which he seems to enjoy more than winning. Owners and coaches in the last few years have learned not to ride their "feature back" into the dirt by giving him 30 carries a game. Ladinian Tomlinson said "each carry is like being in a bad automobile wreck" because of the shock and pain to the body. Chip Kelly ruined what was left of the careers of DeMarco and Sam Bradford. Kelly was brain dead without any clues on how to use his talent. He halfway understood the "hurry up offense" but he didn't have the O-line talent or dependable receivers to make it hum. All he could see was that Bradford and Murray were involved at Oklahoma with teams that averaged 85 to 95 offensive plays per game. He tried to emulate that but it was a hare-brained idea. Kelly had a classic "power I" tailback in Murray. DeMarco took the ball 6 yards deep and had a full head of steam by the time he exploded through the line. So what does Kelly do? Lines him up next to Sam Bradford who hands him the ball and then depends on Murray's lateral speed to create energy and explosiveness. The problem is that there is nothing in the engine trying to run a cross block to try to find a "quick opener" that DeMarco usually found to be "closed." The only saving grace was that DeMarco did get paid. No reason to discuss the power "I" formations used by the Titans. The organization simply preferred Henry over Murray. DeMarco is still at OU after the traitor Riley went West. He salvaged 4 major commits and brought some other highly regarded running back candidates to commit. He is a "legacy coach" that is well respected at the university and by the players that he recruits. He has the story of "been there, done that" that is highly impressive to young 18 year old's looking to go for their first "All-Pro" season in the NFL.

No doubt about it man. Idk why people tend to overlook the fact that guys like him helped our Titans get out of the darker years of the early to mid 2010s

@Ben Fetchak Yep. Demarco was a big trend setter for our recent success. He taught Henry a lot. We were winning 5 games in 2 years before Demarco.

It's ironic that in the safest years to be in the NFL are when these players fall off the fastest. Jerry Rice was a Pro Bowler at age 40, and Emmitt Smith remained a reliable ball carrier his entire career (up to age 35).

Yup. Jerry (like always) stingy as hell. I think his production was a bit overinflated due to that O-line, but he was a solid back with huge potential. He did pretty good with the Oilers; excuse me Titans, but his issue was health.

Again, Murray raised that offensive line. In 2012 the entire offensive line had never played their position in the NFL. They switched both tackles around. All three All Pro linemen started their rookie years when Murray was the RB

He had an amazing year and was the best qb in the playoffs that year and had the highest passer rating in the NFL even over mvp Aaron Rodgers. Only reason romo finished 2nd in mvp voting was by default thanks to the damn tie breaker in the nfc even though they both finished at 12-4. Unfortunately that's how the NFL works. All year Romo had 0 chokes. No late turnovers. But he had plenty of 4th quarter comebacks and a couple game winning drives. And a game winning drive in the playoffs that year as well against a damn good defense. Almost did the same thing to the packers but we saw what they did to Dez Bryant. Demarco Murray was the only cowboy to turn the ball over in the 2 playoff games in 2014 which is what essentially turned the tide when the cowboys were dominating that game fuckoff with "choke" label because of the bobbled snap in 2006. Tony Romo had an amazing year and you fail to acknowledge it by simply calling him a choker when all season he did not choke at all.

Him and Henry was a smash and smash combo it’s just Murray was better suited than Henry was for us at the moment,hated he got injured the season we made the playoffs in 2017 but that also allowed us to start unleashing Henry

One season with Eagles. Titans got home 2 years after he hit 1800 yards. He was still mostly in his prime.

Blocked punt for 6 and a muffed punt, we should’ve lost that game but pulled it off some how. That hit Wagner had on Romo was brutal lol. I’m a huge ET III fan. He’s from Orange, TX my hometown.

When that fumble happened I knew in my gut the Cowboys were going to lose. The Dez catch / no-catch was devastating of course, but there was just something about that fumble that seemed to cement that old feeling of “here we go again”
