Is there anyway that Hemlock can be destroyed? I wouldn't want to take chances with it closer to your home. I love watching you and Jason and Lester and Jami because i can enjoy the critters without worrying they will end up in the freezer. I understand that is how farmers make a living so i just want to watch your vids because i know it will be fun and entertaining. I love animals and get to enjoy your critters. I just Googled how to destroy Hemlock plants and saw many options. If it was my property I would go for the chemical one as it works fastest. Anyone with it near them should have it destroyed, so dangerous.

Yes it’s very dangerous especially for children and I told Chad to check it out because I believed that Adler was holding it in a picture Chad presented and I told him to not let Adler be around it until he checked it out! He did and I’m so thankful. Thank you grandpa. Hemlock is rather flat, white and lacy looking, it’s beautiful but very dangerous.

I’m from the farm and I believe animals can understand when we talk to them. I have tried winking at dogs I have owned and they will wink back. I have had a female feral cat come to my door begging for food. She even let me talk to her and pet her. I rescued cats and found homes for them. When we lived on farm people would drop off dogs and we would take ten in. We had a collie come in the middle of the night. We had people looking for dogs killing sheep. They had description of dogs they were looking for. We let them see her but she was not one they were looking for. She turned out to be a very good stock dog. Natural born heeler. She would nip cows ankles to make them move but would not run our dairy cows. I could tell you lots of true stories of animals and things that happened on our farm. At one time we had a hundred dogs. We had our own kennel for coon dogs plus everyone had there pet dogs. I believe in my heart that we can talk to animals if we’re willing to listen with our heart. ❤❤.

I'm that way with cats. I end up finding cats that are dumped off or orphaned kittens, take them home and add them to my barn cat collection. I find homes when I can for them. My husband prefers dogs. Of the ones we've seen out here, two were lost and returned to their owners, one was the neighbors new dog coming for a visit, one stayed till she passed away, one was adopted, and one put down due to being aggressive.

Special voices for pets! Yes!! Every pet I've had got a different special voice. It's not like on purpose created...just comes out that way. They definitely talk back too. Sometimes going on and on telling me a story. If I get it right and understand the animals, they surely do let me know what a smart human I've been today.

Cayenne didn’t work too well in my feeders for the squirrels. Supposedly ants and spiders don’t like mint, but they forgot to tell mine because they crawl on it. I’ve always used cayenne or crushed red pepper to break dogs from getting in my trash cans, but the boxer mix I have now liked it. Tried Tabasco, she liked it. Tried wasabi paste, she liked it. Tried all of it together, she liked it. Finally gave up and got a trash can with a lid. She eventually grew out of it and I could use trash cans without lids again. But what works for one doesn’t work for all. I think animals are like people, some hate hot stuff and some love it.

Sorry I'm just catching up on all the videos. I've had a big problem squirrels this year. I've pretty much won the war by doing many different things. I helped the neighbor lady with the same things. I put stones and rocks around the roots of potted plants and newer plants. I found out that Irish spring soap keeps critters away. I shaved mine up and put in plastic bags and threw it around different areas. I also tossed it in my attic and other places in my house. The animals Don't go near it. Neem oil is also a great deterrent for many things. I haven't had any critters touch any of my mint varieties. They don't like the lavender either. I have dried lavender and dried that I used from time to time. Critters also do not like dryer sheets. You can use them around your house to keep pests out. I've never once had bed bugs while other people I know have had them. I've used bamboo and string around everyone of my plants that critters seem to love more. It's cheap and I can break it up into different sizes. The bamboo is also good to use as trellises or to keep plants upright. I've honestly not found much to keep squirrels out of bird feeders. There are things you could do but it might deter the birds. I stopped using bird feeders and just started throwing bird seed on the ground. The birds came to eat what they wanted and the squirrels usually took the corn if it was in it. Didn't stop me from seeing birds. I actually saw a lot more and a lot more variety. They would actually sit up in the trees at the same time of the day yelling at me to give them their food. Plus I have water out for the squirrels and two bird baths for the birds. The squirrels actually know which water is theirs and don't mess with the bird baths.

Hello. Ty ty ty for the warning about hemlock. We will keep our eyes open and be careful. When it comes to birdfeeders,we took ours down because my husband saw field rats coming in to steal from them. I put up a number of bird baths and the birds come in nearly in flocks. I am so glad we didn't lose our feathered friends. The kune kune pen was an excellent idea. I asked the other day about feeding Sassy, Gray, and Mag by hand . Tysm for trying. I think in time they will. You have a patient way with animals. : ) "Oh man, I love the farm animals".-golden. You have to work on the chicken choir. They aren't getting it...lol It's so satisfying to watch the kunes relax when you pet them...PW is a riot. All the Best.

I just hope Smokey's buddy, Batman, doesn't get depressed when she leaves. Lester at "I'm a Survivor," said in one of his videos about Mr. Huck (one of his goats) that the problem with goats is sometimes they just give up and lose the will to live. We have an abundance of Hemlock in Ireland this year also. A little girl who stopped to smell some, has ended up in hospital, her poor wee face looks like someone poured boiling water on her and her eyes are closed shut. She will be ok but may be left with scarring on her face. Try putting dryer sheets on the ground and posts beside the bird feeders (and in your garden). Deer do not like the smell and will stay away. It's too funny, when the animals are all fed they lay down for naptime like little kids. God Bless.

As someone from the southwest, I love the spice from the peppers. Not enough to blow my head off but enough for flavor and a little heat. Not sure why the deer don't react to the pepper, frankly I haven't found anything that will keep deer away from something they want. Now if you have arthritis, take that pepper oil and use it on your aching joints. JUST MAKE SURE TO WASH YOUR HANDS after applying it. It works so well that they actually sell creams with it in it for joint pain. Amazing how the same thing can do different things depending on how you use it.

Hi Grandpa! Lovely morning sky.😍 Oh my goodness! I never knew what hemlock looked like! Thank you for pointing it out. 👍 I’ve used chilli oil on feeders. I make my own.Squirrels really don’t like it. As you said birds are oblivious to it. Common sense prevails Grandpa! 🤗👍 💃🏽💃🏽🕺the worm game! 😋 Love to Grandma x . Your lilies look beautiful. ❤️ prayers. God Bless. Until next time.👋

Perhaps certain worms don’t taste very nice. I’m sure the chickens know the different types. Enjoying your videos as usual, thank you very much. God Bless xx

Wow! I think the little piggies have doubled in size since you brought them home! I wonder if there's some county/city organization that can help with getting rid of the hemlock? God Bless and prayers for health and safety!🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Hello Ralph and Leanne everything is looking good and all that hard effort is sure worth it everything is blossoming. That hemlock is nasty and if you touch can leave massive blisters like massive burns to the skin and don’t heal very easily. We have it a bit here in the uk but they do try to get rid of it does pop up because it’s so dangerous. Thanks for sharing and have a good week. 💕🙏

Ralph this guy that came to do some tree work pointed to me and said that the flowering plant I had was posin. It is a good thing I wear gloves when I do yard work. Nice of you to let folks know. Enjoyed your feeding the animals. Nice sun rise. Thanks and Love y'all.

It is a similar bloom to Queen Anne’s lace. But that touch of purple tells you it’s Hemlock. Good that you are alerting folks to this.

I’ve heard of giant hogweed that’s about the same and I think we found some here in Maine but I’ve never heard of poisonous hemlock. They look similar.

Ralph - What would we do without you and sharing so much knowledge, especially about hemlock!! Very grateful as I knew nothing about it. Olivia and Bella are going to keep Lola happy and busy when they are big enough to all be together. PW cracked me up in that doghouse!!! Those goats are always good for a laugh. Have a wonderful week, LeaAnn and Ralph. God Bless

Thanks for sharing Grandpa 🥰 I’m always left with such a peaceful feeling after I’ve watched you so lovingly care for all the critters. They are most certainly in the best hands they could possibly be in. The flowers and gardens are beautiful and healthy. You and Grandma have done an excellent job with everything. Always miss seeing Grandma but understand that she’s very busy. Love both of you dearly and pray big blessings upon you and the whole family 🥰
