hard to be hyped for new movies after they were what they were (wake me up from this nightmare). I would be more hyped movie about young palpatine... or even story about Qui-Gon. Dunno but the story they made with Daisy wasnt new... Story was same but lead was female and didnt lose hand so how she can be skywalker without losing hand..

Yeah, his performance was genuinely really bad but that was many years ago and says nothing about him as a person. I always hate how not liking or liking a persons craft or a snippet of their craft makes people judge the whole person. Never had anything against Hayden, seems like a genuinely nice dude.

@@gothard5 unlikely. People dissliked the prequels because before that all we had was the original trilogy to compare it with and two were very differant. The sequels however took the lore that was built up over 30+ years and shifted, ignored and changed it to please a small minority of fans and unlike the other two trilogies it brought nothing new to the table, just rehashed a few things hoping it would help

I'm quite similar to him in that fashion, I can say personally I notice my own aging which kind of freaks me out when people who are 10 years younger than I am say I look younger than them. I'm kind of an expert on the manner and I think the key area is to always look around the eyes. Theres also a general widening of the face that occurs in aging as well as increased nose size. He looks older and he sounds older but he has aged well. I think a key factor is that some people might have bad genes but they also have terrible lifestyle habits which exacerbates aging and normalizes this cultural idea that everyone over 35 is supposed to look like shit or noticeably be old at that point. At 34 I feel old only in the matter that im very dissapointed with how the world turned out not to be what I thought it was, in that I feel like my soul is 77. The bad guys who rule this planet make Dark Sidious look like a joke.

Yeah back in the day was horrible actors got really struggled with mental health problems, it's a shame. But to be honest this generation is also very toxic. I am convinced the toxicity had a hughe influence how the sequels turned out how they are right now.

@@jkcrawl The thing is, while they absolutely did not deserve it and I don't think ANYONE should be firing personal attacks at actors, I can at least understand why the Prequel actors got hate for their performances, because they ARE unusual acting choices. However what people failed to realise is that that was the point - Anakin was supposed to be an awkward, emotionally-repressed prodigy, because who else would become someone like Darth Vader? Padme was supposed to be slightly uncomfortable around him, because as much as she cared deeply for him, she was also old and wise enough to see that he was controlling, obsessive, and slightly unstable. What I DON'T understand is why the Sequel ACTORS got hate, because in my opinion, all of them turned in perfectly cromulent performances. The issues that people had with the Sequels were issues that the actors never had the power to resolve - largely the story and the way certain characters were developed. The racism and sexism aimed at the actors was absolutely vile, and for a while it made me avoid the Star Wars fandom altogether. The Star Wars fandom seems to get very attached to a certain vision of things, and they invent their own idea of how the story is to be progressed, and then when canon goes in a different direction they will TEAR the fucking world down. I also think there is an uncomfortable subset of the fandom that likes the Empire for more than just their fashion sense and interior design...

@@BambiTrout I agree with everything you said. One thing I will add is I don't think the awkward acting in the prequels is the actors fault. George Lucas is just simply not a good actor director. There's some behind the scene footage of Ewan McGregor being visible agitated by what he's supposed to be conveying because of all green screen stuff combined with lack of direction. Even actors from the original trilogy have critiqued Lucas' lack of direction, most prominently Harisson Ford. I remember an interview with Ford from a SW where he explains Lucas' lack of understanding the actor's frustration with how they're supposed to be delivering dialogue.

Props to you for being able to admit it but the same ones that get mad at people hating on Hayden turn around and do the same thing to the new actors

Ya know, I used to think he was a shitty actor and I thought he ruined the prequel trilogy. Then one day a few years ago I had this epiphany, what if he's not a shitty actor? What if Anakin is just kind of a whiney bitch? I watched the prequel trilogy with that mindset and I think I was right, because he nailed it.
