Elvis was the whole package, he had the looks and a fantastic versatile voice and so much soul, he loved what he did and his sex appeal and charisma were beyond compare, and on top of that, he was a kind generous man. Elvis was a once-in-a-lifetime talent.

I was around when he did this comeback, barely....but unless you lived when he was alive, you don't understand the impact....especially at the time, he was untouchable and there was something about him that was so different, so much talent, so much of what no one else was at the time. He really was the whole damn galaxy! AGREE!

To add another mind blowing fact about Elvis, he never took ANY voice lessons whatsoever. He said he didn't think his voice needed any improvement! He sang in the church choir and his mom his said even as a toddler he would listen to them practice hanging on every note. It's all natural. He said God gave him a gift and he didn't need to change it. You are the King Elvis!

I don`t care who or in which field, I don`t care if I like them or not, but nobody gets world famous for nothing... So, people making fun of famous people should research more and should stop having opinions without knowing the facts. I really love your reaction :))) Elvis was an outstanding individual. He invented himself at least three times. He was chosen by God and touched by Angels. But nothing comes for free. Not even the gifts from Heaven. He paid a heavy price for all the miracles he received, all the wonders he spread, and all the people he touched.

The 1968 comeback special in Vegas was ....amazing...in all ways....and he performed two ( or maybe it was three) 2 hour long mini shows with smaller audiences, in a back to back format. Meaning,, he did one show, and then an hour later, he did Another 2 hours with a new mini audience. And the shows were taped and recorded live. It was called his come back special because for several years he has been away from live on stage shows because he was in the US army, then when he got out, he was making back to back movies. He decided to do the comeback special in Vegas because he was missing live shows with live audiences...and he was also worried that his fans had gotten used to movies, and albums only. He was really concerned that he, the live performer, had been " forgotten" He truly was gifted ...the voice, the vocal range, the energy to perform, singing an dancing and interacting with the live audience and his backup singers and band... And after his comeback special in 1968, he began doing live concerts again And he was approaching 40 years old... Yet he had his energy recharged by the audiences Did you know that the phrase " Elvis has left the building" was used to let the audience know that he wasn't going to come back for another encore? Because Elvis concerts were scheduled for 2 hours...yet he often would come back out again after " this is the last song" for three or four or more songs? One concert went over three hours because the audience kept calling for him to come back and he would come out and perform for another 15-20 minutes. He would say goodnight and leave the stage again. Then when the audience was calling.. he would come back Again.. He was truly a great show man. He loved his fans, and was always thankful for them, and the energy & love they gave him. So that one night, after three or four encores, his stage manager could tell he was exhausted and begged him to go back to his dressing room. And the manager announced " Ladies & Gentle men, vis has left the building" so that the fans would know he wasn't going to come back for another encore. Elvis and his band loved performing and you could tell they loved it & that's why they stated together for years & years, right up until Elvis passed away 🤗

Without a doubt, Elvis is the most versatile voice of the 50s (he continued to reign until the 70s), he moved successfully in different styles and that is not within everyone's reach. Elvis was not an old glory of the 50s, nor a fat guy who performed in Las Vegas dressed in white, the king is much bigger than the caricature that some claim. A music legend.

Elvis was very worried about this show, at the last minute he almost didn't perform. Because he thought he was going to look like a fool, He was so nervous and told then Director of the 68 special Steve Binder that he could night even remember 1 story much less any songs, it had been over 7 years since he had be in front of a live audience But the director told Elvis, " You cant do this right now Elvis, you have to go out there , even if its just to say hi to everyone and than come right back, you have to go out there." Binder later stated that Elvis did so awesome that they could not get Elvis off the stage , He not only did great , that to this day The 68' special come back is still watched still loved and still making big money. 🙂btw if you have not seen his live concerts in Vegas you should check those out also he has a live performance with Frank Sinatra that is awesome, There is also a duet that Lisa Marie put together for Elvis fans, just youtube search Elvis and Lisa Marie singing "Dont Cry Daddy" Thank you btw loved your reaction

The session of Elvis singing in the round like this is the best part of the 68 Comeback Special. It is also the basis for what would later become MTV Unplugged. A chance for singers and musicians to strip down the music to its most basic level for a more intimate performance for the audience.

You are great Pzo! I love your reactions to Elvis. I appreciate your open mind, willing to go back and appreciate an artist from long before you were born. I'm on this Elvis discovery right along with you. I'm 60-years-old, so just a little too young to have been part of the Elvis craze when he was alive. Then I saw the new Elvis movie and got curious. And now I'm obsessed with him! I've been watching videos and, like you, am totally blown away every time. He was absolutely amazing!!! And to find out that he was a good person too -- a humanitarian standing up for human rights and racial justice, and taking risks to do it. What a special man.
