I used to have attacks of occipital neuralgia almost daily for years. I saw several neurologists, neurosurgeon, was given cortisone shots in back of the head for over a year (didn’t help). I was at the “end of my rope,” and discovered Bob and Brad about 7 months ago and, in 2 days, of doing 3 or 4 of their simple exercises my life was transformed! I now only get migraines 6 times a month at most vs. 25 or more before! These guys and their therapy gave me my life back! Eternally grateful.

Did you have pain in your eyes
@michelenichele294
@michelenichele294 11 ай бұрын
@@Kim-ss5bb Yes, occasionally, the back of my right eye would hurt. But doctors said they could find nothing wrong with it. After a few years the eye pain vanished and has not returned. But, if I remember correctly, the optic nerve is a branch of the occipital nerve. So I think when I got better, the eye pain went away also. Makes sense. So good luck with your neck exercises.😀

I just discovered your videos. I have suboccipital swelling that just appeared on a CT scan that was taken for a different purpose. I've had neck and lower back (advanced) degeneration for years and it's worse than ever. I am now dealing with my first headache ever and I'm now on day 6. I even went to the ER and they treated it as though it was a migraine. I already have an appointment scheduled with a chiropractor and a neurologist. What I really need instead of medication management are exercises! Some of them I've been doing and didn't realize they are a thing. Other techniques are new to me and I will be working on them. Thank you for what you are providing for therapy we can work on at home.

Have been diagnosed w/occipital neuralgia. Had first bout 2 years ago, went to the ER (and it took ALOT for me to make that decision!) they did a head scan and thankfully no masses, diagnosed it as O.N., prescribed pain killers. Now 2 years later I had same horribly painful symptoms, went to ER, diagnosis O.N., prescribed painkiller... The ER Dr. and the Neurosurgeon he consulted with said they knew what it was, but not what causes it. Well, your site was the 2nd I found w/in 15 minutes of searching and I learned it was a compression of C1 & C2 discs and also the stretches/maneuvers I could do myself to alleviate the pain. I did them and the pain went away almost immediately! WTF?!?!? If the ER Dr. knew of this, he could've had me pain free right there in the ER. You two are lifesavers and I'd love to send you a thank you gift!!! xoxoxoxoxo

@@malekdaly8522 it's good to hear that you feel better. Hoping mine gets better too. I'm so done with this. I basically fainted due to dehydration which led to a fall. I don't recall hitting my head but I faced concussion-like symptoms for a few days which eventually went away, like loss of balance, fatigue, sensitivity to light and sound etc. However, there is this stress that I feel on my upper neck and headache is present too. I can't risk going to the doctor. I feel like I am almost fully recovered but the headache and the pressure on my head scares me and still hasn't gone. I'm one of those overthinking people. Kept searching my symptoms and increased my fear. How did you manage to get rid of stress and anxiety? I'm guessing I have the same issue.

Thanks so much - I’ve been suffering these exact symptoms after a Lumbar Puncture. The position the learner doctor put me in was in the foetal position tucked into a ball pulling my head downwards tightly with my chin tucked into my chest with a nurse pressing me down onto the bed on my hip and shoulder to keep me still. This was for 30min while she tried to find the correct position in my spine to extract fluid; she gave up after I exclaimed “I can feel that up in my shoulder blade” to which she put the needle down and said to the nurse “I’m getting the registrar” then he came in repositioned me sitting up on the edge of the bed with my knees tucked as if doing a bomb dive and it only took him 7min from prep to full extraction of the fluid. THANK YOU so much for this video; as you say my mind had been racing thinking why I was getting pains in the exact spots you mentioned. Even though I knew it was nothing sinister due to the fact I’ve had 2 x MRI, CT scan, 2x LP, X Ray, EEG, blood tests, anti-viral and anti-biotic medications due to a rare case (they say most likely under diagnosed) of a syndrome called HaNDL which is a self eliminating condition.

On 8/30/18, I was walking my dog & decided to walk in a shaded area under a tree. There were lots of low lying branches on the tree, so I bent my head down to walk under it & WHAM, I slammed into the trunk of another tree. I hit the tree with such force that the leash flew out of my hand, my vision was affected IMMEDIATELY, my head (skull) hurt soooo bad, I staggered backwards & did all I could to stay upright. I drove to minor emergency as I knew something was wrong & they called an ambulance to transport me to the ER. CT scan was negative, but was diagnosed with a concussion. I had speech difficulties for 3 weeks, balance issues, fatigued/sleeping a LOT, sensitive to light, skull pain & burning. I've been in pain & out of work ever since - I just want some form of relief. On 10/1/18, went to my chiropractor & x-rays revealed swelling at base of neck & it was out of alignment. I watched this video tonight & tried the exercises - found relief with stretching the back of my neck. The pain of ON feels like I'm constantly being beat in the head with a baseball bat AND a 2x4 - it's pure hell! I pray this pain goes away as I can NOT imagine living with this forever! 10/3/18 @ 10:06P.

These guys aren't all correct. Its actually a TAC or trigeminal autonomic cephalgia aka CLUSTER headache. There are 2 types episodic and chronic. For better info check clusterbusters.org ouchUK for real neurologist MD based info these exercises can help but they do nothing to real sufferers like me who are chronic and never get a day off. I get 300-350 attacks a month. True standards of care other than adjunctive care are 1 high flow Oxygen @ a rate of 15-25Liters per minute. Aborts attack in minutes to 15+ depending on breathing techniques 2. Triptan injections, or nasal sprays. Problem is you only get 10-14 injections a month. Don't waste your time w triptan pills. They don't work for 99% of people with CH. THEY ALSO HAVE A NASTY ability to increase the intensity and frequency of attacks for some people. But if you're episodic and get once a year for a month or a few they can be life savers on important days or at work when no oxygen is available 3. Vitamin D protocol found at vitaminDwiki.com site is cheezy but the creator of this regiment is a honorable veteran in the navy and CH community. He has collected data on the protocol as he's tweeked it over the years and presents at conferences all over the world. It has given many of my friends their lives back. For me its real complicated. I process vitamin D at a lvl which suggests I have a genetic defect and I have to push my 25(OH)D3 level over 200 to get them to stop. So I have to let it burn down and can't stay cluster free. Its not just taking a lot of vitamin D. There are a few other co factors needed as well. The creators comments advice can be seen all over clusterheadaches.com (used to be active site) but I know him from clusterbusters. He goes by xxx now. Old user name was Batch. You will see a bunch of info adnauseum w the science to back it up to bring to your neurology apt everyone Should see one and get a head MRI. There is a similar headache caused by aneurysm in eye and optic nerve can be coiled.... And lastly the truly fascinating part Not to really be discussed of some CH facecrooks groups (there are 2 big ones) i don't do SM really but felt compelled to post this for the " smartest people talking about "suicide headaches" like there occipital nerve and posture "adjunctive " therapies are going to work just tics me off. Its not going to stop my hypothalamus from going haywire or my sphenopenalatine ganglion in my nose from causing them unless there is a stretch for that. Error at any rate the most promising thing for CH in my opinion is psychedelics! Yep I said it. Good old LSD (go to NIH.org ) there is a study in Basel Switzerland in phase 2 pt selection for 100mcg PHARMACEUTICAL LSD 3 doses usually a week apart is standard protocol for as we call it busting) there is a study that is to the best of my knowledge going to be published out of yale done at the VA in CT w psilocybin aka 🍄. Some people are anti drugs and have gone to extremes and done studies to have electrodes placed in their heads and not gotten any relief and finally turn to psychedelics. More research is needed We get rejected for orphan drug status at the FDA every time we go to the hill but they go every year and beg for special funding. I have been told there are roughly the same amount of people with MS as CH in this country and we get fractions of pennies with John's Hopkins opening the first psychedelic Institute about a year ago we are well on our way to some promising help for a lot of things... there is help out there for this horrible affliction my old handle at clusterbusters is freud or Freudian. You can find a lot of help on everything you will need to know. There is a list of doctors that actually know what the hell they are doing with this. And then some scam artists in South Africa claiming to cure it w micrivascular surgery. A hoax There is of course lastly Gamma knife. My least favorite but another promising tx down the road. And yes there is a new monoclonal antibody injection approved for episodic CH sufferers w mixed results but abandoned the Chronic arm of the study due to poor results. There are other tips tricks and drugs tried steroids are pushed but I have 2 friends that lost their hips to avascular necrosis from one round of steroids. Most of us have tried them I did when I was diagnosed. There are extreme options like xyrem look it up nasty drug hard to get but there are case studies w 4 pts. Lastly ketamine nasal spray for pain control during the most horrific attacks. Usually started at 50mg/ml strength and titrated up to 150mg/ml. Few Doctors write it and most reserve it for chronic patients that are uncontrolled. It is a controlled substance but a control 3 not 2 like pain killers. There is no amount of morphine that stops a CH from being a "suicide headache" many people have been put on every pain killer you can imagine only to end up w a drug addiction that was medically induced and Cluster headaches. I highly suggest since you're on KZfaq already search "Bob Wold " the founder of clusterbusters and watch his lectures it will be life changing no offense Frick and frank. I used to practice in heart surgery this is not an attack but calling a TAC a occipital neuralgia isn't kosher. TlDR search web for clusterbusters KZfaq for bob wold lecture And vitamindwiki

I’ve had these types of headaches for years but not as often lately since I’ve improved my posture with chiropractic care. But when I do get them, they have me down for the count for sometimes 3 days. I will give these a try and also try to improve my posture even more. Love your channel!

Thanks for the tennis ball trick, that one softens up the back of my neck and helps with a neck headache! The tennis ball did not seem to do too much for my back below the neck, but it seems to work well for the neck! I am glad that I stayed until the end of the video when you slipped in the winner!

This is most helpful and stress-relieving to watch, thanks. I have a lot of tension at the base of my skull and in my neck and shoulder muscles and this seems to be a big contributing factor to my occipital neuralgia further up the skull. Can I please have some safety advice on use of the tennis balls, such as recommendations on application of pressure, whether they can be used on the bones or exclusively, the muscles and what not to do.

I am 70.I have recently had head trauma (a fall) leaving me with O.N..Each morning I awake with shocking head pains (as if I've had a bottle of whisky as a night-cap and someone has smashed me on the head with the empty bottle!.).I've noticed that tilting my head forward causes most of my pain.Effectively pillows leave your head tilting forward all night long therefore I have got rid of them.I now rest my head directly on the mattress.The pains have mostly gone.Don't do anything without seeing your doctor.

Thank you for the videos, for someone like me who rather choose holistic route it’s much appreciated. My migraine pain went away and am improving on my posture😏. I’ve had suffer from migraines since I was 16, now 30. Throughout my twenties I was constantly not taking seriously 😒. However I took up yoga, so it help out a bit. But I hope in the African American community that migraine cases will be taking seriously.
