Everyone has a different immune system, different healing expierences, different life styles, etc. And this does mean some of us are going to heal slower. And that's ok! I know it can be frustrating when others around you are healing faster then you or getting more piercings. But I promise, it's ok to heal slowly and to honor how your body needs to heal, whatever that looks like.
Happy healing!

Had my industrial done exactly 3 years ago today, just changed the jewelry yesterday. Yeah the industrial took the longest to heal for me. Thank God for the donut pillows.

@@rosev1nomg same, my industrial turned 2 years old in June n is still bumpy😭 I think I had about one month where it wasn’t bumpy n that was the very first one. I’m giving it another year and giving up :(

@@zee6411 I’m similar, no shame in that tbh! If it’s not bringing joy, it’s okay to give up on it. I’m sure there are plenty of other less problematic piercings that we can get 😂 tho I am gonna stick it out one more year, ONE MORE 😭😭

NEEDED this video today, Lynn 😅 as a slow healer, I definitely feel sometimes like I’m doing something wrong-even if I’m keeping up with my aftercare routine. Thanks for the hope ❤

I'm a slow healer and it takes around 1-1,5 year to fully heal an cartilage piercing. The most annoying is the terrible bumps during the healing and they're there more or less the entiry healing time. At the end of the healing the bump slowly disapper and couple of weeks after my piercing is fully healed. It isn't much I can do than accept my body reacts that way during the healing time. I can prevent them for getting to big as not getting to many piercings at the same time and limit the amount of healing piercings. I'm trying to be happy that the bumps dosen't leave any visible scarring when they're gone (:

Honestly needed this. Despite aftercare I heal EVERYTHING super slowly, from body mods of any kind to scratches from my cat, and seeing all those people with these amazing curations done within like 2 years is kinda disheartening!! But it's so nice to see others who are also slow healers still get what they wanna get and be so happy with their mods

all of this applies to stretched piercings also, please be patient, people say that 3 months is the time it takes to make a 1mm jump, I imagine that 3 months is the minimum, because for it normally takes 4 months in a half.

This was so validating!! I’m trying my best and I get embarrassed that my conch is still getting irritation bumps after more than 1.5 years, but the shame has sometimes slowed the healing because it’s made me embarrassed to go in for downsizes because it is still not PERFECT yet. I tend to need more gradual downsizing than others and it has helped a lot, but getting over the shame is hard!

Lol, so many truths. Piercings are so personal. Just be patient, enjoy them, enjoy the journey, get what you want just because you want them, no pressure, it is almost a spiritual thing. I got 18 piercings in a 9 months period, 2 years later they are healed. Even healing like this, I’m waiting a little bit more to get the other 2 I want, no hurry, I want to enjoy them and to be prepared to wait for them to heal. Your piercings will heal, but they have their own pace, let them.

it's very comforting hearing this from a piercer. i've definitely made the mistake of getting more piercings than my body could handle before, all close together, and also at a time when my habits weren't super conductive to good healing. it definitely sucked, and i ended up giving up on those piercings, but i think it was a really important learning experience for me, and healing now, one at a time, carefully, has been significantly smoother as a result. as always, really nice hearing that sort of honest discussion of important piercing topics from you 💛

Really appreciate this today! Been getting super frustrated with how long it’s taking to get all the piercings I want, but my body is my own and it just takes the time it needs (even if that ends up being over a year for even just a lobe…)

I learned this the hard way because I grew up and wasnt allowed to have any. When I was finally allowed i got too piercing happy and got too many at once and that definitely slowed down my healing 🙈 now I only get one new piercing at a time and I’ve noticed a big difference with healing ☺️

People who want to heal in elaborate jewelry confuse me. I get pierced in stuff that will go with anything so I don't go stir crazy. That said I'm becoming a slower healer with age it's frustrating but the worst part is not knowing where the limit is anymore I've slowed way down pushing things is a bad plan.

Hi Lynn ! I know you’ve done so many videos about piercing bumps and proper aftercare and I had seen this brand and their products being recommended by many piercers on social media that has had me very skeptical. The brand is Base Laboratories and I was wondering how you, as a professional, feel about their piercing after care line? Are any of their products or their ingredients actually helpful during the healing process?
