As we are in the middle of the health insurance marketplace enrollment period (November 1 - December 15), this video discusses whether enrollment in a health insurance plan obtained through the marketplace would be considered a public benefit under the DHS public charge determination during the green card process.

Can you please confirm to have market place insurance from state also will not considered as public charge? as some of state like PA started their own marketplace and offering insurance?

Hello Miss Stephanie,How are you?I have just one question, U.S Citizen's spouse and child , once they enter to U.S with immigrant visa, will they require to apply social security number at local social security office or it will be automically mailed within three weeks or a month?I do appreciate if you could answer my question. So which mean to say immigration is fine with I having medicade?because I were about to enrol in an health insurance ?so I can show my Medicare card which I have enrolled since 25 years I do have the actual card it says benefit card is this ok this is why am being specific

This is ridiculous. It is the law passed by congress that mandate public charge considerations. It is totally fine to consider public insurance as negative factor even for CHIP. This is because at the worst you can pay a bond.
