There is a old saying about Nick Saban.. He doesn't come to Alabama to win 10 games a season.. He comes to Alabama to win Conference Championship and National Championship. He helps kids to have a better NFL career and have a better life.

Patrick Shane O'Marra The bigger point to be made is that you have a guy like Saban who reams USC and says he thought they didn't play well and then you have a guy like Butch who says he is never going to apologize for a win. Even though that was a win in overtime against APP STATE? Are you freaking kidding me Butch?

I just do not like any players that push like #15 did was uncalled for but #40 did stomp our #15 did not cause him to stomp. #40 looked down & stomped but there been many comments Oh, #15 pushed him & made him do it? BS! #40 clearly had his head down looked & stomped plain as day. Now if this was a true mistake he should have turned around & said sorry try to help him up but he didn't this made me believe it was on purpose.

I was at the game as a true SC fan and really felt we looked great in the first half, but it became clear Saban is a master of adjusting and coaching winning teams. Really reminded me of the Pete Carroll era and how every team we played came out on fire but Pete would never panic nor the team and would re-take the game. SC still has a bunch of talent and the season is long, so who knows. Best of luck to a great Bama team and the rest of their season. Fight On!

Very crappy start on offense. Defense kept us in the game. Once our QB got his mind right, we took over the game. Jalen Hurts acted like he'd "been there." He wasn't cocky, wasn't over-celebrating like you see so many (even seasons veteran) QBs do. His was very efficient, and very impressive. I'm hoping we get to see a lot more of him. Both he and Barnett have tremendous arm strength. I don't think Barnett was ready for the big stage, but Hurts played that game like it was any other high school game he'd played in before. I'm extremely impressed with his poise. Now, the defense was stellar. Anyone who says that we didn't win because of defense needs to re-watch the game. Our defense was phenomenal. They were so quick to the QB that he lived in fear of getting hit. He was rushed and at some times it appeared scared for his life by how quickly our pass rush got to him. Roll TIde.

As a USC fan, I can say that the better coached team was Alabama. Not just a difference in talent, but also Alabama had fewer missed assignments, especially on defense. Props to Alabama for the win. My trojans need to work, and also show more attention to detail (no more missed assignments, wrong pass routes, bad hand-offs, etc...)
@kvernon1

It might also help not to stomp on opponents after kick returns. That was more disgraceful than any lack of attention to details.

This will be the year when USC finds out if Clay Helton can coach at this level, both on and off the field. The next two weeks will be very telling. Next week (Utah State) I'm looking for alignment & assignment, and better execution (attention to detail) - particularly on offense. The following week at Stanford will be a much tougher test.

+ghosted760 I'm calling USC regroups, wins out conference will be first in defense, and if it's a one lose team that get the nod at a playoff spot then we very well could have a Bama SC round two...and everyone involved should say that still will be a great game, SC showed enough to prove they can hang, SC coaching needs to improve which is very clear for any coach in Heltons position even when sabian first started he had to learn, how SC has bounced back on defense is actually a good thing, and please spare me the score, we all know what I'm talking about, Bama got the win and played better but it wasn't a Portland st win, you fought for it. I'm ok with losing to Bama you got to get your ass kicked sometimes to wake up, well we face no other quality team as Bama so it's very easy to say SC gots this, how many one loss teams actually won it all? Bama fans know...

Advice from a hardcore SC fan. Your whole Defense is off the mutherfawk'n charts, your Oline need some work, your QB will get tested against teams that have an offense that can keep their good defense off the field, your special teams is solid and your head coach is great. When Kiffin left SC I said he would become a good OC for someone and eventually get another college gig. Even though I said that, at this point I don't believe he's head coach material on this level but will survive as an OC for someone. Just being honest.

+Vincent Melendez, great post. I'm starting to believe the realistic Bama fans know what happened. They understand that we don't have a real head coach or OC. From what I'm hearing from them is they won because of their defense which they are 100% correct. What SC offense did to Bama's defense on that first drive showed them how powerful SC could be if they had a legit OC. That being said, Bama is who I thought they were and that is a great team. Fight On and Roll Tide.

+Charles James That's right! USC is too good to let this ass whooping determine the rest of the season. Bama is lucky they have a great HC otherwise this game would've never been played. You think Bama would've scheduled USC during the PC era? They knew we were still climbing back up of the CFB world and they knew they needed to get us while they have the horses. Quick summary: Saban thinks the score is misleading, that USC isn't the best team they're going to see this year, that Saturday's effort will get them beat against better teams, and that he doesn't want his team to get complacent and full of themselves one week into the 2016 season. There will always be things to work on and get better at, no matter how well you play, and Saban's obsession with always getting better and fixing one's weaknesses keeps him ahead of the pack.

Even Jalen's mistakes, he looked more confident and poised. Our 1st true freshman. Once it was a blow out, it's easier to run the offense because the other team had already been mentally defeated. +Ray Hall I agree with the o-line. I'm just pointing out it's easier to play in a blowout than when the pressure is on. I hope he keeps improving, having 2 qbs ready is a plus for all of us. I think at the end of the day, we all want the same thing. Roll Tide!

+Clay Helton is not head coach material. Most SC fans knew this but Haden didn't. Oh well, sometimes it takes an embarrassing asswhoop'n to get the shit right. Now that we have Lynn Swann as our AD and not the clueless Haden I believe things will start going in the right direction. Swann about that championship life.

+BamBam Bammer The game was in the bag once Barnett was allowed back in the game so yeh he was productive and more relaxed. Hurts however looked more poised and he delivered huge after the botched play and carried the Tide to a blowout victory. Maybe Barnett will get more chances but Hurts seems to have earned the job.

Alabama has never lost to Southern California west of the Mississippi River. The Tide has beaten them twice in Los Angeles, once in a bowl in Hawaii and now in Texas. The Trojans' home seems to be Birmingham, though, where they won twice in the 1970s, two of Alabama's worst defeats ever. It's all reverse geography!

I'm not so sure about that after watching LSU vs. Wisconsin. LSU has a decent defense, but they are a "one trick pony" on offense....Fournette left, right and up the middle. Remember what Bama did to Fournette last year and the Tide is even more athletic on defense this year. The LSU QB Harris looked like a deer in the headlights, he really hasn't improved much since last year. The only saving grace for LSU is the game is in Death Valley this time around. About the only SEC west team I see giving Bama a hard time is Ole Miss and they lost last night to FSU. Bama wants some pay-back for the last two meetings. I think the Tide is going to go at the Rebs really hard in Oxford. Texas A&M looked decent on defense, but didn't show all that much vs. UCLA on offense. I could see Bama running the table this year.

Bama beat penn state twice, bama spanks michigan, bama spanks notre dame, bama punishes Virginia tech, bama beats Wisconsin, Bama rolls Michigan State, Bama murders the Trojans. . What does Michigan, Notre Dame, Virginia tech and exspecialy Michigan state all have in common here.........THEY GAVE UP. Wisconsin of all teams actually gave the tide a good game. and penn state did what only ohio state hase done...........fight Alabama to the end even in defeat twice. So how bout we get Alabama vs Penn State in Indianapolis 2019

He is just miserable because he knows what will happen if they face Ohio State again if they don't improve. Damien Harris was an Ohio State guy then thank goodness he went to the tide. The only reason Saben has been successful is because he plays Big Ten ball. Strong defenses and run game, opportunistic passing. SEC overrated again. Wisconsin, haha. Ohio State would have beat bama crybabies last year too.

their offensive line sucks because the entire team isn't that great, the Pollsters just randomly stuck the number "20" next to their school name because they played Bama their first week. that number doesn't exactly reflect how good they are.
