Hope For Paws - Official Rescue Channel

Hope For Paws was contacted by L.A. on Cloud 9, an organization that helps homeless people. The homeless man in the tent (he didn't want to be filmed) fed the dog, asked them for help, and they knew to call us. (They are the same organization that called us about Jordan: • Jordan's Journey - The... - I'm sure 90% of you remember his horrifying story).
Loreta Frankonyte and I headed out to the bridge over the 110 freeway - one of the busiest and noisiest freeways in Los Angeles. We feared he would bolt, so we surrounded him with our plastic fencing and got him into the Hope For Paws rescue vehicle.

One weird/funny thing that happened during the rescue (it was removed in the editing) is that a man approached us and asked to buy drugs from us. I don't know what about our look gave him the feeling that we're the people to ask. 😄 (Was it the color of Loreta's shirt? Is that even a thing?) 😅

Anyway, little Shrimp was shell-shocked from his experience. He didn't like being touched, and he wouldn't let us shave parts of his matted coat, so the doctor at CARES had to mildly sedate him.
Our friends at S.A.F.E. Rescue Team offered to foster him. It's important for me to acknowledge the incredible work of his fosters - it took a couple of months for him to transform from a shell-shocked sad dog, to a happy, playful doggie: SafeRescueTeam.org

It's important for me to mention that the man contacted LAonC9 about the dog and that we have spoken to him ourselves and brought him food too. He asked not to be filmed, so we respected that of course. We get to help homeless people all the time, I always have a tent and a sleeping bag in my car to give away. It's cold outside, and I can't imagine living like this as a human or a dog. 😟💔

@@marshamariner7897 The first comment I read mentioned him. Hope for Paws responded that he had called about the dog. They spoke with him and gave him some food. He didn’t want to be filmed and they respected his wishes.

@@TheMijman He was already in-touch with a homeless charity who were concerned about him. It was they who contacted Hope For Paws. A loving act expects nothing in return. Didn't you know..?

If you read the description an organization (LA on Cloud 9) was working with him, he asked for help from them for the dog, they contacted Hope for Paws for Shrimp. So thankfully he does have an organization working with him and hopefully is in a better situation now, but also was selfless enough to not only feed that dog but also ask for help for the dog. He didn't want to be on camera which I can definitely understand. (I didn't get the whole situation from the video alone until I read the description.)

Eldad usually sees to it that some kindness goes to the homeless -and kind and selfless- man who has done so much to better the life of another. Unfortunately getting an human all fixed up and ready for a new life is so much more complicated....

It says in the description that the homeless guy asked a homeless service organization for help for the dog and they called HFP on his behalf.

This cute baby used to belong with someone until... What a shame! The homeless man who feeds the homeless dog has more compassion then the dog's previous owner. Thank you, HFP for rescuing and S.A.F.E Rescue Team for fostering. When a dog does the zoomies, he wants to tell you he's feeling really really good and he's so happy! Dang that breaks my heart. I adopted a dog who was abandonded at 2 months and found agressive and scared by an apartment complex and highway (probally of his former owners) .. they were all matted like this too and very skiddish. 2 months at a shelter and i finally found him. He was the one dog in the video who was still bouncing around despite his scary circumstances. Now he lives a great life with long hikes and walks 2 times a day.... Hes having a very hard few days right now, im not looking forward to new years eve..already theres 🎉 fireworks going off 5pm all randomly through the night..he just paces around the apartment scared. I try to just tell him its okay and put treats in every room. But hes not even excited to eat :( Everyone can go through trauma..its horrible when people just abandon dogs like they dont have emotions 😢 Hes

Another amazing rescue! The rescues with Eldad & Loreta are some of the best and this is one of them! Shrimp has made an amazing transformation! The homeless man who took care of Shrimp did the best he could, but he knew that Shrimp belongs in a real home, where he'll be safe, fed, happy and most of all, loved. My heart is full seeing this little doll get his dogness back! Oh, how I love Hope for Paws. If there is any way this retiree who lives in Texas could possibly adopt this dog, I would be over the moon. Shrimp would have a loving home with his own backyard (where he can do his business or play fetch or chase or whatever, but he would live in the house with his mama)* and and a mama who has been the proud and loving owner of poodles since the mid 70s. *No doggy doors here. Mama supervises every outing.

I simple cant decide what is better his/her smile while taking bath or tail wagging for dinner, or sitting on the couch. Unfortunately every rescue starts as bad. But HFP crew are angels without wings and make miracles for our furry friends.

That homeless man had beds and food/water laid out for that pup. I feel sorry for the dog and the man who took care of him. That dog was probably the guy's only sense of "normalcy".

Great to see Shrimp rescued & transformed into a healthy, happy, clean dog. Was there any communication with the homeless person? Any permission required before taking him away. Obviously, you are not a homeless rescue group but it would be great to know not only Shrimp but his owner’s life was also improved

Of course. As I mentioned in the description, the man asked not to be filmed, but he told them about the dog that camps outside of his tent. We gave him food too... some people are just uncomfortable with my camera and I respect that of course.
