I have never cried about somebody I've never even met, but when I heard that he passed away, I couldn't help it, tears started pouring..and the strange thing is, I've never even considered him as one of my favourite actors, but his death really was really-really sad for me :'(

RIP Heath. No matter the cause, accidental or not, it's tragic, and he will be greatly missed. I pray his family finds comfort.

i feel just the same as everyone else. Im just shocked and speachless. I even watched some of his films today and just cried. Yes it sounds weird, i didnt know him personally but when your into a film star/music star/celebrity you just feel weird, kind numb, i just cant describe it.

I too am proud to say I am from the same city as Heath Ledger. Its a very beautiful yet fairly unknown place as far as the world goes. You need to be very special indeed to rise from such a place and rise indeed he did. A wonderful person, so sad to see him leave. I wish that I could achieve as much as he has done. Hes definatly an inspiration to really start making something out of life.

Never thought he'd go so soon. Loved him in A Knights Tale and 10 Things. Dark Knight won't be the same, now that he's gone. Wish he could've stuck around longer...

At the time Warner Bros. hadn't confirmed that he had completed his work as the Joker. There had been sightings and assumptions that he had wrapped but there could have always been scenes to reshoot or add or etc. It was released a few days later that his work as the Joker was completely wrapped.

It all makes sense. Not the death, but the overconsumption, the feeling that he can die because he'll live on through his daughter, the hardship that goes along with intense, sudden fame. It's like a James Dean recklessness, based on fear and a need to relieve pain.

fair play he was a great actor, funny as hell in "A Knights Tale" i found out at 6am this morning before work that he had died. it would be wierd to see him in the new Dark Knight Film knowing he never went to his own Premier. he moulded himself into the joker so well aswell. a very hard job to do to live up to the expectations of Jack Nichilson's Joker but he pulled it off brialliantly. I think playing the Joker was difficult for him. He had been taking sleeping tablets for a few weeks now. They didn't do much for him, he'd take one, fall asleep for an hour, wake up and take another one. And I guess he had a particularly bad night before he died. And the overdose was more than likely accidental, as he very much loved his daughter.

Ive just discovered a shocking coincidence, Heath Ledger was 28 when he died, he also had Batman: The Dark Knight coming out this year, a movie that would've set him for life. Brandon Lee also died at 28, he had The Crow that would've made his Career. Both The Crow and The Joker are of Comic Origin. Anyway, I'll be going to see The Dark Knight when it comes out, I just hope it has "In Loving Memory" in the opening or ending credits.

its sad when anyone dies, bum or not, drug addict or not. He was a human and he had a child. If you don`t feel sorry for him, feel sorry for the innocent, beautiful little girl that will never know her father. This isn`t the place to blow up at other people who are just expressing their remorse.
