These guys were in their 60's for this concert. This tour had some great energy. Songs that really stuck out were "Bible Black" and "I". Great songs to check out.

Tony is probably considered the grandmaster riff wizard of all time. But his soloing is under rated in my book.

Dio was already quite ill at this point due to stomach cancer, although it was undiagnosed. He didn't want to abort the tour.

Heaven and Hell IS Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. They took that name to separate it from the Ozzy led Sabbath which still existed . They used material from the 1st 3 Dio Sabbath albums and the Heaven and Hell album The Devil you know. They played only Dio sung songs. This was the MK3 line up of Iommi,Butler, Dio and Appice.

back when this was released it was the Album that was called Heaven and Hell, the band was still called Black Sabbath, I have it on vinyl

The original of this is maybe my favourite Black Sabbath song, and Dio really shines on it. Hadn't heard this performance - which is more about the guitars - so thanks! I'm sure you know about Rainbow-era Ronnie James Dio (Stargazer etc.) but do you know anything before that? Not the the *really* early stuff when he was a doo-wap singer, but with Elf for example. Nevermore is a real hidden gem.

Oh, man; you're in for a treat, discovering Dio-Sabbath/Heaven & Hell! Dio really gives Sabbath a more epic feel, I find, as opposed to the pure darkness of the Ozzy lineup (both are great). As for further listening: Neon Knights Children of the Sea Heaven & Hell (arguably Dio's signature song of his career) The Sign of the Southern Cross The Mob Rules Falling off the Edge of the World Computer God Letters From Earth I Fear Bible Black Follow the Tears Live or in-studio, all of those songs are worth checking out for sure. I am and have been a Sabbath fan since 1980 at 14 years old. I discovered them as Dio joined the band. Same band, different vocalists. Ozzy the greatest metal front man ever. Dio, the GOAT metal vocalist. I love all Sabbath but the Ozzy and Dio stuff just slaps better.

Heaven & Hell is Black Sabbath but when they got back to together with Dio, he didn't want to call it Sabbath again so they called it Heaven & Hell instead

Actually the name change was due to a lawsuit by Sharon and Ozzy. Any lineup other than the original can’t make new music under the Sabbath name.

Check out Lonely is the word. Studio version .........hauntingly brilliant. New to your channel so don't know if you've checked out Scorions......"Another piece of meat" or "Blackout".....

The reason they didn't hold up their phones is because there weren't many smartphones around in 2009 and the average demographic in this audience would be late adopters ;-)
