He's just so unbelievable. Dude had a niece that cheered that went to my high school, so he'd come to some of my basketball games to see her. He was the nicest, most joy filled person. Only saw a bit because I was playing but anyone who approached him at any time of the game, all smiles and pics/autographs, then back to the game like nothing happened, he loved his fans. Saw him doing HIS OWN shopping at the frys nearby in Gilbert. Humble, kind and an unbelievable talent and human being. Truly a loss... rest easy Chester

Every time I hear him say "How you guys doing?" It makes me tear up. He sounded so happy, as one with depression does when they're masking their pain... It's painful to think what lurked below the smile, was what would take him. Anyone who's been there, knows. I'm lucky to be a survivor. Chester and many others are to thank. I wish someone could have been able to save him, as he saved me.

What breaks me the most of this song is Chester's scream at 2:25, because I can feel myself screaming the same words inside - every time. Thank you for everything Chester, you will always be missed and never forgotten

I’m a metal head and this literally put my hairs on end . Really beautiful piece of music . He had such a powerful voice which feels so genuine and real . Like he means and feels every word. Very few singers/ vocalists do this and capture you. I know people say all sentimental things when someone has gone but I really rate Linkin Park as pioneers of modern music . Fusing several genres despite the backlash from the metal elitists or the pop or rap lovers saying ah why does he scream ..... you know the drill .. they really are and he was unique . Live they were amazing and such an energy. It truly is sad that we lose special things like this to the way music is now being made and how popularism is taking a generic grasp of the younger generations . I’m happy to have been a teen when these guys came around and experienced the whole nu metal scene if that’s however people want to brand it . It truly was a sad day for music when he decided to end it. I find music so cathartic and it always makes me feel better I struggle now though to feel positive from his music knowing that he was baring that much that even though he shared it with people he still couldn’t carry that weight . I have bouts of extreme depression and music is the outlet that helps me release it in a positive way . I’m lucky I get what I do from it . I can’t help but think how terrible things must have been for people like Chester to only have one solution to their problem . It must be hell to actually feel that death is the only way out of it . Iv had 3 friends commit suicide one being my best friend in the army . I think it shows how bad mental health problems are in young men and I hope if anyone out there has any issues that they do not do what Chester felt he had to do . If your having a shit time there’s always more worth staying alive for I think if you just see the devastation he left behind to his family friends and fans alone that that was worth fighting for . Anyone who suffers anything reach out to people man the best thing I ever did was speak with a total stranger . If I hadn’t I wouldn’t be here today either . Anyone struggling just reach out and don’t carry the burden alone . There’s always someone who cares about you and always someone else you will hurt by not being here ! No matter how you feel inside it’s not a bad world and I would be there for anyone going through anything, anyone out there if your alone and just need to talk just hit me up I don’t care where your from or anything I am all ears and I would help anyone . Don’t forget to check in on people guys . Think when was the last time you actually asked people around you - how are you ? Like no really how are you ? It’s s busy world these days and we forget that sometimes there are people struggling in silence and something so little as asking someone are they ok could lead to making their life bareable and cared about no matter how they feel inside . This acoustic performance was such a beautiful and sad rendition when I first heard it with my mom after Chester's passing. She had been a lifelong Linkin Park fan with me ever since she bought me hybrid theory when I was a kid. Unfortunately she took her own life last year and I can't help but to attribute the lyrics to hear mental anguish And suffering she and Chester endured before their untimely passing. Hopefully things are a little less heavy up in heaven ❤️

I just lost my 93 year old grandma. I have problems with expressing emotions to the point that people hated me for not crying as much when grandma died, they think I was being heartless. My heart breaks when I hear and see him sing this song. - The pain he must have been hiding in these moments-and the pain that he went through in his life- " if id just let go id be set free" is the line that sticks with me the most- because he did let go. :( RIP Chester. The way a person loses their personal ability to feel peace..every day is a battle to not have demons of our past and horrible pains scream in our heads. The weight of expectations of others..but also of ourselves when we realise how much we are struggling and feel the weight of awareness of our scars and wounds. fighting to break free of it to join you all in a comfort of our own skin..but going insane from trying to reach you. so we hold on.
