For us yanks, This tune should have more significance than it does. The Black Watch played this at JFK’s funeral. Shortly before his death, the Black Watch visited the White House. “Scotland, like the US, is the land of lost causes.” Just superbly done. Neil is a world class instructor who holds no punches yet is understanding for novices. If you’re getting into piping, you’d do well to play along with his videos. He’s the real deal and then some.

Brilliant Neil. Mind o' learning that tune while I was there as a teenager, because of those exact hills. Was with Hugh's schools band, early 80s. So thanks for bringing that memory back.

This is one of my favorite tunes on the bagpipes. Another great tune is the Dark Island. Awesome playing in a beautiful setting.
