Trad Slow Air, recorded on Saturday 11th September 2020 at Falkirk Trinity Church "The Faw Kirk" as part of The Piping 100 challenge.
"Scots Wha Hae" are the first words of the song "Bruce's Address to his troops at Bannockburn", Written by Robert Burns in the late 1700s, and put to the much older tune, "Hey Tutti Taiti"
I was joined on this occasion, by Gordon, aka, Sir William Wallace from the Society of Sir John de Graeme.
The Society, as stated by Sir William, are raising funds to enable us to hold an annual celebration of the Battle of Falkirk, over two days.
To assist them, please give if you can, at;

Great Tune originally the Scottish National Anthem before Flower of Scotland was adopted and generally the first tune that most Pipers learn on transition to the Pipes from Practice Chanter. Your 100 Day Challenge is a great credit to you Neil especially your perseverance with health issues in recent days. Always excellent playing and choice of Tunes and Mini History Lessons. Please convey Many Congratulations to your Parents on their Diamond Wedding huge achievement to be highly commended ( Hope they received a Message from Her Majesty The Queen). Lang May their Lum Reek. Best Wishes to you your Family and your Mum and Dad. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🙏

Great story, but, the National Anthem of Scotland is God Save The Queen. The "unofficial" anthem is Flowers of the Forrest.

@@WootTootZoot I think you mean Flower of Scotland . Flowers of The Forrest was a Scottish Folk Tune written after Scotland’s King Jame’s the fourth’s Defeat at The Battle of Flodden in September 1513. Eventually the Words of the Poem Flowers of The Forrest were set to the tune and predominantly played by Pipers at Funerals and to commemorate loss especially in present and past conflicts. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@@WootTootZoot You're off on both Mr Zoot. Apart from anything else the third verse of God Save the Queen is offensive to Scots, that's partly why you won't see it here. As for the unofficial anthem being Flowers of the Forest, you are misinformed. I dion't know what makes a tune or song a national anthem, In UK and Scotland I think its just commonly adopted and accepted. Bruces' Address/Scots Wha Hae, certainly was our anthem until Flower of Scotland came along. But as far as I can make out, it's only because people said they were. You won't see GSTQ here.

I have just started the journey of transitioning from the practice chanter... and guess what tune I am playing on the practice chanter / attempting to play on the goose? I am learning the pipes at nearly 60. And loving it.

By far the best of this great series. Fitting tune for such a location and certainly learned something here. I wish you would have done Flowers of the Forest or something for the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
