This is clear win for Helen Hunt. Those who are against this outcome are either those that didn't even watch the movie As good as it gets, or those that watched Titanic in tears

I ran into her at the Louvre in 2017 and greeted her. She responded gracefully and politely--such a classy and down to earth lady.

All these comments about Kate Winslet are hilarious. Prior to the Oscars, Helen Hunt had won the SAG award for Female Actress in a Leading Role (in any genre) as well as the Golden Globe for Lead Actress in a Musical or Comedy. Judi Dench had won the Golden Globe for Lead Actress in a Drama. Basically, Kate Winslet didn't have a chance in hell.

It's great she won. One of my favorite movies to re-watch. The whole cast is terrific and the story is believable, because the actors make it so. Beautiful story.

This is STILL one of my all-time favorite movies for so, so many reasons!!

Helen Hunt is absolutely brilliant opposite Nicholson and Kinnear in that movie. She really tied that movie together emotionally and, even though you want to punch Nicholson's character, her empathy and compassion for the dope somehow rubs off on the audience. One of very few great movies on my replay list.

She is a great actress. Well deserved. After rewatching the moving after 25 years....it is a genuine jewel of drama sparkling laughs of comedy as life it is. Great Helen Hunt. Bravo!

Fun fact is that every time Jack Nicholson won Oscar, main actress also won Oscar.

I loved Kate’s reaction to Helen winning. Instead of being upset or disappointed she reacted with class and actually smiling that she won.

She’s a wonderful actress and makes this movie, along with her amazing two colleagues, UNFORGETTABLE
