Helford Half Term Sailing Break

Күн бұрынA Halcyon 23 and a mk. 1 Cornish Crabber sailing around the Helford and Fal Estuary during the 2017 summer half term, then back to Plymouth. An amazing holiday with phosphorescence, fish, barbecues, tall ships, dolphins and of course a pub!

A whole cupboard for Dad's beer... and other things. Now that's the kind of boat I like to sail on! I've just bought a Halcyon 23 myself, they're beautiful to sail.

I lived aboard a Halcyon 23 in Penryn for a couple of years, eventually sailed around to Bristol and lived there five years.

Wow, that's pretty cool! Not a huge amount of space in an H23, but enough! I always fancied living aboard for a bit!

She's a great boat and has looked after us well. It's great for exploring the out of the way, quieter areas!

You poms and your droopy bowsprits. It spoils the beauty of a lovely boat. Follow the shear at very little cost of sail area.

Great video Jamie. The Pandora is a lovely pub but a bugger to deliver too, especially in the winter......very steep hill! Always good to see the kiddies enjoying themselves too.....good stuff!

Yeah, Plymouth is great for access to some lovely spots, and fun to sail up the estuaries of the Tamar. I've sailed charter boats (Liberty Yachts) out of QAB a few times. Wonderful facilities there and right on the sound. One day.....

It was Moe! We had a couple of open water day sails between the Helford and the Fal, but it's great exploring those estuaries!

Really enjoyed this one. Assume you have bilge keels to dry out? Now I wonder what the Molegrips are for on the guardrail (26.00 mins) ??

Ah, well, I was trying to fit a tiller pilot and while putting the brass female lug into the wood cockpit fairing I split the wood - the hole required an imperial size drill bit would you believe. The molegrips were holding the wood together as the epoxy glue dried and stuck it all back together! :-)

Yeah, my youngest has really got the bug. She'd take herself up to the bows and sit there taking it all in. I could tell she was 'getting it'. She was great on the tiller!

I believe the frigate is the russian Штандартъ, (SHTANDART) (The flag is an obvious givaway that it's not going to be an english name, or even something readable unless you know the kryllic alphabet)
