Most would think the snout is the most crucial part of the blower to be ported/modified but that’s not the case. After modifying over 100+ blowers in house, The Bearing plate is the most important part of the IHI blowers and causes the most restriction. We have had customers gain 2+psi switching to our billet bearing plate in house vs oem bearing plate.(using a stock unported snout) A ported oem bearing plate does not flow as efficiently as our billet bearing plate and we have seen some oem bearing plates CNC ported by these company’s break and eat a whole blower. This has happened many times.
