the only thing that just doesn’t land is when Leia says, “I’m here because of you [Obi Wan]!!” Kiddo you don’t have NEARLY enough information presented to you to figure that out even with the Force, and the camera didn’t frame it like she read her fugboi cousin, likely though not necessarily using the Force Little Leia would need to know who her birth father is, know his history with Obi Wan, and why Reva would be using human traffickers to capitalize on her abduction…

I think that technically was the first time Obi Wan and Leia interacted with each other in the whole series. They never were in the same scene in any other movie or tv series. Also made sense that Obi Wan cut himself off from the force. Like Luke in ep. 8

@@X2X2X438 i think in both cases the disconnect from the Force could have been better delivered, BUT we were walked through Obi Wan’s better: we don’t need a character expositing it because we see Obi more burdened than embittered by his trauma, his friend confronts him re:Obi’s self-doubt and regrets; his arc to rise above both his failings and those of Yoda’s Order is a feature not a smash-cut side mission delivered through exposition

Technically, it was Bail Organa who fucked up. After the fall, the agreement was for Bail to protect Leia and for Kenobi to protect Luke. Not for Kenobi to do both jobs. Also Kenobi never inferred that Leia was not important...only that his own duty was to protect Luke. And it was absolutely unfair for Bail to ask Kenobi to fix something that he fucked up himself. But Kenobi, being who he is, despite the depression, and PTSD, and nightmares...agrees to help out Bail Organa anyway because they are friends after all.

Maybe, but assuming Bail took on the same role for Leia as Ben did for Luke is a stretch; Vader knows he had a kid, and clearly he didn’t know he sired 2… Bail couldn’t go Liam Neeson ‘Taken’ because as both a member of the Alderaanian royalty AND it’s representation in the Senate, he’d be risking much more than his life w/ not nearly the same utility as Obi Wan So Bail yes is confronting Obi Wan from a conflict of interests, but he’s not wrong about his friend

@@hellfish2309 Bail is a public figure. No he cannot do what Kenobi does BUT he does have resources...of the military kind...at his disposal. I mean Leia mentions as much a couple times during her kidnapping. So it is disingenuous to pretend that Bail has no other option. Plus Bail royally fucked up in the first place by not having Leia under constant watch and protection when she is known to sneak out and play in the woods. And no...it's not merely just self pity. The man has PTSD and depression which are serious things. I would hope that if anyone has a friend or family member who goes through that doesn't just say "stop being a limp dick" and suck it up.

Kyber crystals are also Force-interactive...and Jedi personally attune them. Odds are, even "cut off" from the Force as he was, he could still feel exactly where his was. Even when you're not using the Force, that crystal is kind of a "part of you".
