This video saved a kitten's life. My friend fosters kittens on behalf of a shelter in South Africa. After he told me that one of his foster kittens may be put to sleep because she "can't walk", I asked him to send me a video and it reminded me of Apple's condition, which I followed on Instagram. I immediately sent him the links to your videos about Apple. He taped her right up and did all the exercises with her for a few weeks. She made a full recovery and is getting adopted this week! Hi! You probably won't see this but I just want to thank you for this video. My cat gave birth to 3 kittens last June and I noticed on the 3rd week that while the other two could walk and run just fine, the other one was dragging her hind legs around. I searched what this condition was and found this video. I immediately began the daily exercises but couldn't do the corrective tying of the legs as I had no tools on hand and the pandemic has had me quarantined since March (still haven't left my house since). Although I didn't tape her hind legs like you did, I religiously did the hind leg exercises several times a day. She's 2 months old now and while her gait is noticeably different, she can run and walk just fine like her sisters. She's so energetic and is the most mischievous and playful out of them 3. They're now adopted and rehoused and she's doing amazing. Thank you so much for this video!

Aww, I can relate to this little darling! I had a similar condition as a baby - apparently, my hip bone wasn't fully developed yet by the time I was born, so as an infant and toddler, I had to wear these special, supporting pants as my hips solidified. It all went well, luckily - I grew up to have a perfectly normal skeleton and posture. Glad to see that this little sweetheart is taking to the treatment just as well! 😊💕

I started fostering a mom and 2 week old kittens last week. As the kittens started moving around, I noticed one scooting around with the splayed back legs, so it was perfect timing for the upload of this video.

I just want to say thank you. I recently started feeding a stray cat from the neighborhood where my boyfriend and I live. There's a ton, of strays around the woodsy outskirts of the town we are from. Anyway, I fed this cute black cat, me weakness, she ended up being pregnant and I kept feeding her every evening at 7pm. She then disappeared for a few days, I was worried because I saw her a few days prior with some gashes and wounds from the other cats she must battle for survival against. I was so worried. I'm trying to make a long story short, I saw her running across the street to a house that's under construction across the street. When I was decorating my porch last week I saw the owner of the home and asked that if he happen to come across any kittens to pleas let me know because I had been feeding the mother for weeks and could keep the animals together and safe. Long behold I got a knock yesterday and it was the weary man, that owned the home. He found one. Just one. And by the looks of him I just knew I was so glad to have reached out days before, he's not a cat person and would just have disposed of these animals with no regard. I am from ruel pa, so that happens alot. Hints the strays. Any any anyway...lol...i kind of panicked, I hadn't fostered kittens this little since I was a teenager and even then the mother was my cat and was very present and comfortable with me. Unfortunately the mother is farel, she's so cute and I want her so bad, she don't like peoples. 😢 I tried to show the mother I had the baby when she came to feed later that day, the knock was at 11am, so it took awhile for it to turn 7pm and mommy was here for food like clockwork. She heard one cry, from the little and took off. She won't come near her and I'm egging to think it's not even her baby, so many strays. Your channel had guided me through these past two days of very little sleep and lots of tears for a malnourished little who won't latch yet. Eyes open, and the size of a four day old. I feel so bad, I got the dihariah to stop today, she's got a little stuffie my daughter donated and is being surgically handled as far as sanitation and such. I thank you for all your information. This is not easy, and the mother won't come back since she saw the baby.

We had a foster mom who had kittens. One, who we named Swlim Swim, had the same condition. All we did was kept putting his feet under him and pushing as we did. We also put him in a warm shallow bath and exercised his legs. Muscle massage and heat helped. Eventually, he got the hang of it. Mom would sit and watch, as we did it all in front on her. We noticed she started pushing his hind legs up too. A little encouragement from mom never hurts. He grew with no issues. We just sat on the floor with the family, watched TV, and exercised Swim Swim. Never used anything but nature and love. I will admit, I have a 6th sense when n it comes to all animals and giving the assistance they need. I know there are more of you out there. Perhaps we can all have a place with Kitten Lady to share our experiences of what did and did not work. There are rescuers who don't have the help nor means to run to the vet all the time. Especially those in rural areas.

I remember a kitten with swimmer syndrome (although it was not as bad) and her name was Skittles. She was the Smallest of her siblings and she eventually got adopted! This reminds me so much of her!

Calliope, my special needs cat, aged 5, has breaststroke hind legs. She is a rescue, found in an alley in Cape Town South Africa. She had a small hip adjustment early on, but still walks and runs about with her dear splayed hind legs. She is not in any pain, and leaps about on all levels bravely, with her unique grace. Her 3 sibling rescues treat her with respect and complete acceptance. Luckily, although she eats banquet sized amounts, she remains small and slim. I take her to the vet physio for hydrotherapy (which she loves) and to her homeopathic vet for laser accupuncture. Otherwise, she is the dearest tortie to grace my home!

I found a kitten at my job. She was outside in the back she was there all day ans i didnt see the mom come for her. It was so hot outside on friday so i took her home with me. The spca was closed so i couldnt go surrender her. I started watching your videos all weekend since id never owned a cat. I was able to determine her age and many other things because of the channel She has taught me so much and ive had so much fun both growing and learning. A feral cat is not the easiest thing to care for but kitten lady helped me so much. I love my little Mila. Shes brought me and my wife so much happiness that we decided to keep her.

I was almost giving up before I saw how Apple got better, and tomorrow I'm buying medical tape to start healing my own little froggy kitty. hey, so about 9 months ago my dad adopted a kitten, who I think is just over a year now, who I named waffles. waffles has some trust issues, and likes to hide a lot, and if he sees anyone, will run to the nearest hiding spot. well, a few months ago my dad got on drugs and started to neglect waffles, and I went to his house (with his permission, I live w/ my grand parents) and took waffles. he has been living at my house for about 3 months now, and has adopted my older cat, who is a female, as kinda like a mother figure. (he follows her around, will hide behind her, meows constantly outside a door if she is in a separate room, and kinda acts like a kitten of his age might act around his mom) ive tried everything I can think of to help him begin to trust his new family, but it hasn't helped. does anyone have any tips on how I could get him to trust me, he wont even eat, or do anything he needs to take care of himself if a human, or my dog is in the room. btw I think he might have been abused before we adopted him.

My cat, Tilly, was born with Swimmers Syndrome as well. We had to wrap her back legs just like this here. Tilly is about 1 year old now, and even though her feet still splay out a bit when she walks, she is able to walk and jump and do everything a normal cat can just fine!

I just got a kitten from my son's friend. She found her outside of her house and searched for mama but couldnt find one. My son told her to bring her to me. When I got her she was less that 24 hrs old. I have taken care of newborns when my cats had kittens and learned alot out of those experiences, plus research. She is now 4 days old and always have been a good eater, luckily. I havent named her yet. I waited till my kitten, years ago, aged up till 6-7 weeks to see her personality. She is gaining and growing great. I am so happy my son told his friend to bring her because she wouldnt have made it.

A big thank you for your videos. One of our kittens developed this in May this year and thanks to your videos we were able to treat him. For three weeks we watched him struggle but kept binding him. When we took off the bandages he skipped around the room with his brothers as if nothing had ever been wrong. 11 months later and you would never guess.
