Best strings set i ever tryed is the David Gilmour GHS signature series, and i'M a massive Hendrix fan , SRV and Page as well but to me the best strings by far are thoses GHS Gilmour signature! combinned with a thin steinless pick, you get all the SRV attack plus all the smoothness and delicacy that you want, steinless pick is what got me spot on for SRV tone that have been missing all along when i could not put my finger on!

Pardon the massive liberty on your excellent channel, good sir. Question open to all: I normally play Rev Willy 0.7 on a Strat (due to a long term injury). I now own a Revstar with a scale length akin to a Les Paul. Should I jump up to 0.8s to compensate?

I have carpal tunnel myself. As such I play 9s on my strat and 10s on my les paul jr. Sometimes I feel like 9.5s would be better on the junior but I just roll with it.

It will always depend on your feel and playability. Whatever feels good is good

Session guitar legend Tim Pearce uses super light strings and there’s nothing wrong with his tone. I’d experiment with a range of different gauges until I find the right balance if I had problems with my hands. When I was young I used to think that heavier=better but now I think that is largely just a myth.

Hendrix usually tuned his guitars in Eb tho right? Significantly less tension that way.

Not usually but also. It would depend on the era

I think it was most of the time (certainly live). Besides, he used a headstock that was effectively reversed. This meant that the high strings would have much less string length behind the nut and the bass strings more than would be the case with a Strat headstock that wasn't 'reveresed'. In theory, the tension should be the same but the feel should be different. @@BuddaGuedes
