Great comparisons thank you. Were all your speakers 8 ohm versions or did you try 16 ohms too? The ext out is 8-16Ohm rated and tghe 7080 is 8 oms. The manual is not 100% definative as it states 15 W (RMS) @ 8 Ω (external speaker) power consumtion 30 watts (max 50watts)

These are the best amp reviews I have ever seen. Fantastic! I owned a bad cat black cat & I have built a spitfire & lightning clone, and have repaired DC30's. Nice informative videos, and you didn't mention a pile of pedals you put in front of them (or in the middle of them). Thank you!

I've had two of these Class 5s. I was hoping the second one would have a brighter tone than the first. Nope. Both were just too dull and muddy for my preferences. Not a bad amp if you like a sludgy and dull tone. But that's not for me.

I've been on this journey (sans the OG), and the two leading contenders are the Formula B Vintage Vibe, and the Deja Vibe mini MkII. These are my price range, if you go higher $ the Sabbadius and Sir Henry should be looked at hard.

i think that fuzz just arounf 04:00 sounds like s**t . Sorry but sounds like the worst Fender Perinceton horrible blocking distortion if you add a lot off lows to the eq, just the worst distortion sound (or fuzz) you can get. Doesn´t matter if you use the expensive Alniico Blue or the humble greenback, no speaker can mask the horrible sound that fuzz pedal produces IMHO, I like other peoples Fuzz pedals but this one I would´nt use it even as a door stop. Sorry, your channel is great and you are a pro, but what I say is what i hear.

I have a few questions for you, sir. Is the pedal connection 4CM? Or, maybe you go into the preamp, or just through the power section? Your clean KOT settings are really killer. It’s enough for me but I wonder how much of that tone is developed in the amplifier? And what amplifier are you using? In general, I really enjoy your cleanish sound, you delay settings, the swell settings, and your Leslie settings. Oh, and most of all, your playing style is a pleasure to listen to. I could listen to you mess with that HX all day man.

Thanks for another helpful video! I'm going to look for your video on the black DanElectro tuned to open C. I have an Epi Dot that I have converted to a baritone ... C to C. I learned on that guitar that HB size P90s bring it from mud to glory. It amazed me that super cheap $30 Chinese made HB size P90s sounded so much better in that guitar than SD Antiquities ... that cost a LOT. Anyway ..... I tried 58 44 32 20p 14 11. Too cumbersome for my fingerpicking. So I went to 56 42 30 19p 13 10. The lowest 3 strings I got from stringsandbeyond, and the upper 3 strings I got from Stringjoy. The lower 3 strings are D'Addario flatwounds. I have not tried them yet ... but I think they should be the ideal gauges. At least, for me. Let me know what you think ..

I need that axis fuzz, but on a power supply.. Which battery you use in your Axis Fuzz? Carbon zinc seems more of a pain than regulars. Are they worth it? Or is there a way to get the same sound with a power supply?

If you get the Axis Fuzz version other than the Rocket it works with power supply. The carbon zync are super cheap.

From my listening point I can notice that the timbral difference is due to the fact that with the windshield it loses the attack in the transients, which is why it gives the sensation of loss of frequencies.

The Marshall 1959 is my favorite because unlike the 1987x (I’ve owned) the 1959 is a fatter sounding version.. I’ve owned a bunch of different models inMarshall’s line up…JMP, JCM800, and a 1987x and a few other non tube and hybrid tubes, Valve-state, MOSFET 100, JMD… The 1959 I’ve owned is a reissue from the year 2000, it’s now modified so I don’t need a patch cable to jump the two channels together, it’s done internally…Also have extra gain stages added to each volume control by adding diodes which act as a boost… Mine screams for what it is and the 1959 works great using distortion pedals and overdrive pedals…It’s a versatile format

Silktone makes nice products for sure, and congrats on getting the DC30 (one of the best amps ever made). When you say how responsive it is to your playing at 9:00, what are we listening for? Aren't tubes more responsive than JFETs?
@BuddaGuedes9 күн бұрын
I can’t compare tube with j-FET because I’m already playing through tubes. What I mean with responsive is the way it reacts to my right hand. It cleans or orverdrives depending how hard i hit it

This lesson and the part 2 of the Open A tunning has so much valuable information, what a great, great lesson... this is a masterclass Budda, thank you so much for sharing. I was learning Blues Going Down from this band called Budda Power Blues, don´t know if you know it and I wasn´t happy with the chord voices I had, so I stopped and went back to basics and remember that you had upload this lessons and man... how helpful this was. It may look obvious from your perspective but from someone who is learning blues everyday this has unlocked another level of choices. Cheers Budda!!

Great video. It's like I'm watching myself in a manic tone test. My question is were you just stacking these pedals in series. Please tell me I'm missing something here because when you cancel the original device the pre section would still be engaged and all other vibes would be going through that preamp. I hope I'm missing something.

Were they the stock tue s in there? I just bought a used one and it had very, very much mids with humbuckers. Have been trying to dial it in. Notice that the drive channel accents different freq for the mid and treble when engaged, which is a good idea. Anyway, thanks for the video, I hadn’t thought to raise the bass as much as you have and made it sound good. Will try that.

I was really thinking about getting this and putting it before my Two Notes Le Clean preamp and a Cab M. No longer need to buy more pedals. The Cab M can be upgraded to a Cab M+ and itself is a preamp. I believe a Fender Silver Face is the amp it emulates which is fine by me. If I want a Plexi I can buy a used Le Crunch since Two notes no longer makes the Le Preamp.
