Henry Rollins is a nice guy yes he was really rebellious when he was young but he has changed so much. I love Black Flag there an awsome band and henry rollins is my influence on me. I want to pursue in sound engineering when I grow up and do something in my life so I can make good out of life.

As a highschool student, everything said in this video is absolutley true. Growing up as a young person today may seem easier, and it is in certain ways. But, the society and people we deal with now are much much worse. I can tell you for sure, bullying, peer pressure, "cliques" and all other fads weren't big until our generation. It's something that makes it tough to grow up in this generation, and we need things like this to get us through it. Thanks Henry.

I come back to this video every time I find myself in a group of people where I don't feel good enough. This helps me remember that even tho some people may have the money, possessions, connections that I should feed off that. I have something they may never have, a purpose and a challenge to see it through.

I met this guy!!! My brother sold a few snakes to him! Got to go to one of his spoken words and hang out with him in his trailer afterwards. Was amazing! He's truly as smart as he appears, and incredibly funny. Not to mention I love his music.

I'm and American, and you can tell Henry Rollins is an American. We Americans tend to look at things at the individual level. That if you're fat, uneducated, and poor, it's your fault. On the other hand, if you put your mind to something, you can achieve anything. That mentality is great on the outside, but when you actually look at what is, you'll begin to realize that society as a whole has a huge impact on your position in life. That's not to say "don't try", it's to say "wake up".

It's relative to how much they have influenced MY life. Sagan would of course say that Einstein and Newton were much more important than he, but for me Sagan has been the most influential. That's why I said "To me...".

@TheGurb67 I can understand that it is hard to imagine that life is short. But imagine this. The great memories of your life so far, how long would it take to think of all of them together? Let's assume that you have the greatest life possible and it would take 3 or 4 hours to remember all of them from your life of 15 years. That means by the end of your life, you have a maximum of 20 hours of great memories. That's how short life is.

It is worse because of the much greater scale to which it is done, even if one individual only does as much bullying through the medium of the internet as he/she would do in-person. Sure the pitch is the same, but the volume is overwhelming.

This has a great message but some parts were quite offensive. I have been lucky enough to have my parents have come from nothing and worked so hard and been able to provide for me throughout my schooling and college, but I beg to differ that I am that stuck up, scummy sounding person you described in the beginning. Just because I have been lucky (and I realize it), doesn't make me less than someone who has had to work to pay for their education. And it isn't "just a basic degree", that's huge.
