How lovely to see Nina and the girls go out on a play date, thinking it was going to be rubbish, and thoroughly enjoying themselves!! This woman needs a support system, and a good example of "how to Mother", and she's found it here with Dr Tanya and these other families.💜

Nina is amazing! She is so genuine and honest and she is very young -and really wants to make things better for herself and those two adorable girls... Tonya is wonderfully supportive of her - very motherly. It's almost like the mother she didn't have guiding her. I am so rooting for Nina and her girls!!

Ethan was possibly a child who didn't spend much time with other children so he did come across as weird because he hadn't learned how to get along and fit in with others his age. He needed regular play groups and the play dates parents arrange nowadays. Hopefully he got that socializing with his peers he needed.

I hate how she told the kid at the beginning to "calm down". Like no wonder why he got angrier and said I hate you. You wouldn't tell an adult to calm down because they'd get angrier. So why would you tell a kid that?

All these parents are so full of anxiety, and they’re filling their kids with anxiety over everything…food, behaviors, play, sleep, just everything. I wonder why they find it so difficult to say no to their kids, why they pander to them so much. They talk too much and mean too little. I would be a nervous wreck just being around them!

Re: Owens hoovering timeout. Once again his mom did not follow the steps ~ no kiss and cuddle, nor did Owen apologize to Dylan. She doesn't seem to connect the dots very well. An apology teaches her sons to respect each other and ties into reduced aggression.

It really bothers me that Dylan was the one who lost out on marbles when it was Owen refusing to include Dylan in the game. You could see he was frustrated and quit the game when he saw his mother wouldn't help him out. Then for her to specifically exclude him from getting that marble when he was the one who removed himself from a frustrating situation was ridiculous... of course he gets upset! He is smart enough to see it wasn't his fault and thus the marble game is rigged so he wanted to give back all his marbles because the whole thing felt unfair.

During the snowball activity, when Mom had to take Owen to timeout in the bedroom & left Dillon in the living room in time-out on the chair... Ethan's Mom told a lie saying that Dillon threw snowballs while she was with Owen. Dillon told her he got up to get them, & told the other mom he didn't throw them yet she was being rude to him telling him yes he did. That upset me. I could be wrong, but I had to rewind it several times & still didn't see Dillon throwing any snowballs while his mom was with Owen.

i babysat a kid like that little boy who is picky, 4 years old and only ate maybe 4 things, i made him a bowl of beef raviolis with a veggie mix sauce, he refused for almost a hour until i convinced him to take a bite, two seconds later his eyes grew wide and he screamed "YUMMY!" and ate the entire thing

Dylan is a clever, amusing cunning & crafty little ball of fire. "Hit me about the head please" Dylan pleads to younger brother Owen with the expectation the outcome will be he can run to mommy to tell on Owen for hitting him and Owen will lose a marble as a consequence for hitting him and he's all caught up on the racecar chart. Hey its not a great plan but Dylan didn't take much time to think it through.

I thought that snowball game was a huge mistake! You take rowdy, out of control boys and make them throw things at each other and make a huge mess all over a huge room that the adults have to clean up? Why rile them up so much intentionally? At the very least, do it outside with something biodegradable or have them play a game that the adults can control without needing to scream and fuss. Sorry, just not my cup of tea. Way more trouble than it was worth.

Ethan gets my vote for most irritating cry. The rapid return is something all parents did with toddlers when i was raising mine, only we didn't have to do it very much as we had already used the stay in the bed technique when they were infants. Nobody let their children sleep with them. I had not heard children sharing parents bed is a problem until last 15 to 20 years. Why did parents start putting their children in their bed to begin with? Was their some popular yet wacky pediatrician who published a book recommending it or something? Common sense should have alerted parents it was a bad idea. I'd like to see Ethan eating and happy to do so. I find the kissing of food as an acceptable substitute for trying the food ridiculous with some children.
@shez5964
@shez5964 2 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more. The yoghurt (Pudding) eaters are so pathetic. Lightly kissing food like a sweet banana proved nothing at all imo. Ethan's stupid behavior is certainly a performance for his parents especially dad. No parent present at dinner and the nonsense stops.
@lessehead
@lessehead 2 жыл бұрын
Kissing the food isn’t the end goal, of course. If you’ve watched her do this with other kids, kissing is the first step. These kids are so food phobic that you first have to just get them to touch it, then kiss it as a way of bringing it closer to the mouth. Then licking, then tiny bites. It’s a gradual process with rewards for good progress.

I agree. Even 3 year olds are aware what instructions Tanya is giving to Mommy and Daddy. By the time Tanya's suggested words are repeated by parents, a quick thinking child is already sidestepping the process and creating an aversion.

I think it is more for the adults. As the technique is inculcated by the child, there will be less praise, but parents who don’t praise their children have to practice doing so a lot
