A good place to start is with flower herbal teas. Example: Chamomile, Red Clover, or Elder Flower, even Danadelion Flower.

I can certainly agree that where you buy tea from. I started out with frontier and I won’t buy again I ve heard so much about comfrey healing, I wanted to make a salve , and drink the tea of course. I made all of that an my family and I couldn’t see any difference at all. I’ve just grew my own this spring and can’t wait to see if this makes all the difference.

Thank you for your free content here on KZfaq. I would love to join some of your classes offered in your school but I'm not financially able to currently so this channel has been wonderful. I drink 8oz of cold infused marshmallow leaf daily but not a fan of the flavor. Could you recommend another herb that might make it more palatable? Thanks Oh and I had no idea that some of the tea bags were glued closed ugh!

I've tried a couple drops peppermint extract which didn't work for me. But I will try just adding dry leaf to my cold infusion and see if I like that better. Thank you!

Regarding chicory root: I was buying low carb products (I'm not supposed to have sugar or carbs as it raises my glucose and I don't want to be pre-diabetic again) and getting bloated. Didn't know why until I bought some roasted chicory root, organic and the only ingredient. Fixed this (was intending to use as a coffee substitute) and ended up very bloated. Wondering if it was this, I tried again after feeling better another day and then made some again and the same result happened. I now know to not consume roasted chicory root or any products containing it, and I now know why I was getting bloated on the low carb product as they added chicory root as the fiber source to it. I've also been healing my subclinical hypothyroidism naturally with herbs and spices and using turmeric for anti-inflammatory. The most important part was when I had read a study about how fluoride receptors bind to the same as iodine receptors in the body and can compete for absorption. I used this to push for the iodine test from my clinic as they'd been saying no since January as its likely not possible for me to be deficient. Told them of this study and the nurse ordered the test AND I WAS IODINE DEFICIENT! I can't afford a reverse osmosis (or any filter) so I was using the tap water (which was the only thing different over the past 12 months that I'd been doing previous to other years). I went back on bottled spring water and my thyroid feels SO MUCH BETTER. No more achyness from the body attacking my thyroid (they said via labs I had Hashimoto's thyroiditis due to the antibodies as well). Since this was only subclinical hypothyroid stage I told them NO to medication, that I would do this naturally and find out WHY I was even having thyroid issues on my own (since they told me they don't know and didn't want to search). I'd even made teas from sage, rosemary, thyme, etc after reading it could be caused also not just too much (or too little iodine), but also by bacteria or virus. The teas helped also and I am not surprised since the thyroid issues began shortly after I got sick last summer with the worst sore throat ever. Now I know it must have been my thyroid inflamed while sick also. ANYWAY I'm looking forward to my follow-up appointment in two months to see my labs and tell them everything that I did to heal myself because I am 100% confident that my labs will turn out amazing for my thyroid now that I'm not using the tap water anymore which means my body can finally absorb the iodine from the foods I was consuming already high in iodine. I'm only 11 minutes into this video but am grateful for the teachings as I'm trying to go back to drinking tea a lot more lately as I'd been drinking less over the past month after discovering what was wrong (iodine deficiency) and feeling better after correcting the issue. However, I don't want to drink much coffee and I'm also trying to balance my hormones, etc so I've been looking into drinking teas again so I'm looking forward to this, thanks!!

I recently harvested & dried wild Monarda from our ranch. It grows wild and no pesticides are used It’s my first time trying this. The fragrance wasn’t pleasant - nor was the taste. It tasted very astringent and had a bad smell Is this usual ? Or is something wrong
@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas Ай бұрын
Monarda can be pretty pungent, and we all have different tastes! :-) But do keep it as a medicinal as it's great for the respiratory system.

Thsnk you, Heidi! Yes, I know things, but it never hurts to hear them again! I've also long been aware of "natural" flavors in herbal teas, but the licorice was new to me. Also, the information about milk thistle. I have a favorite infuser that is actually a spoon that my parents purchased in England. It's too tiny, darn it! Oh the things I'm so ignorant of😂

Just your tender voice alone is calming 😆 I'm in the middle of the herbal tea course and there's so much to know. BTW I can't download the image of the triangle that helps you with mixing and portions 😢. I've already learned so much. I've been drinking my own tea for a couple of years, but there's so much info for my old brain to retain and that course is nicely organized so thank you for that. I'm going to ditch the drugstore someday. I'm blessed to only be on 1 prescription, but if the Drs had their way I'd be on many including 3 different painkillers which were ineffective anyway. I know I'm much better off now because of that decision alone. I have been trying to get off that last pill for years. I'll try till I die! ⚠️☢️💉💊🩹 rinse and repeat
