Glad I listened to this because I'm on my cycle and I completely forgot I even had red raspberry leaf. Its even on my shelf that I see all the time in the kitchenette. I made some tea just now with the red raspberry leaf, nettle, orange peel, and rosehips (for the flavor as I found its a nice alternative instead of adding any sugar or honey). I also added some food grade red rose petals I'd bought at a spice shop.

Just found your videos today :) I am dealing with an ear infection - or just an inflamed ear.. its very painful but the doctors want me to take antibiotics and I refuse.. so I am trying to learn as much as possible about the herbs.. I recently harvested and dried wild yarrow and it is the most bitter taste that i've ever experienced but I am already starting to like it after 2 times drinking it

Oregano infused oil. One or two drops in your ear, should help immensely.

I don't recommend oil directly into the ear---but around the panicle and the entire ear itself can be enormously helpful.

Thank you for this information. My son in law is allergic to alcohol and my daughter didn’t realize that the tinctures she made would make him sick. He got so sick for two days and then she realized the tinctures were poisoning him. She felt so bad, (as well as her sweet husband). Can you suggest what you can use to make a tonic without alcohol?
@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas Ай бұрын
A glyceride would be much better for him. :-)

Thank you again for so much amazing info! Does echinacea having a contraindications if taken daily? You said it's not meant to be a tonic herb and I have a family member that takes it daily. Could they potentially have negative affects from that? Thanks
@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas Ай бұрын
Your body becomes used to the compounds, and by using it daily, you may be reducing its effectiveness. And, it's incredibly stimulating to the immune system.

Ooh I didn't know corn silk could be a tonic herb! Do you know if I can harvest it off my sweet corn or does it have to come from a specific variety of corn? Thanks

Hi, I love making herbal tea blends. I made the bone health tea yesterday. I used dandelion leaf instead of horsetail because I don't have that and right now I really need to work through my older herbs. Milky oat tops is my favorite for ice tea blends and this tea didn't disappoint. Very refreshing over ice. Thanks for all the great info Heidi. I've been making tinctures, salves and teas for awhile now. What frustrates me is when I need something for a particular issue I look through my many books and the index is not helpful, I usually end up going to my trusted you tubers or science journals to find answers. Does you course teach whiich family of herbs are good for certain issues? Im familiar with the more popular herbs . For instance, I cut my finger pretty deep on a glass fermenting weight that was fractured. I ran to my herbal pantry and grabbed yarrow, made a poultice with water and packed in on. Then when the bleeding slowed I rinsed it and immediately put yarrow tincture with a gauze pad. It stopped bleeding immediately. It created a film over the cut, astringent properties im assuming. After a day the cut was healed over and I put comfy arnica salve on it and 3 days later it was healed. No scaring. Amazing Thank you for all the information you provided.
