Unfortunately for me, they were in paired episodes. The first episode of each pair would always end in a cliff-hanger, with Batman and Robin in all sorts of trouble. Then at the start of the second episode, you would see how they managed to extricate themselves. My prob was that there was always a show on another channel that my parents liked to watch at the same time as the second Batman episode, so I would never get to see how the "Dynamic Duo" would get out of their predicament... I did check Dark Knight out of the local library a few years ago and I don't recall him wearing it then. These days I'm also out of the loop with Marvel - is Spiderman now body-armored too? The real reason the Batman costume was a complete disaster, was that it did not allow the actor to actually fly. All of the flying scenes were accomplished through camera tricks, and by the third season, they abandoned them altogether. To this day, many people, including comic book writers and producers, portray Batman as not having the ability to fly, despite the fact that he does wear a cape, and in comic books, having a cape denotes the ability to fly. Also, the Robin costume was designed to pinch the gonads in such a way as to lend a high pitch to the scenes where he used his famous "Robin's Song" to intimidate criminals. Dick Sargent, who played the boy wonder, suffered terribly in the costume, and was eventually unable to have children of normal height because of it. This has been _made up facts from the Encyclopedia Brianticca._ Thanks for watching.
