Here's What a Muffler Delete Sounds Like on a Porsche GT3 - 991 Muffler Delete DIY

The stock GT3 exhaust sounds fantastic, but believe it or not it consists of a 3 muffler system. As it turns out, removing one of those mufflers makes it sound even better. That's what we do this week, install a Sharkwerks center muffler bypass on a 991.1 GT3.

Great exhaust choice - went with IPE myself o retain the valvetronic (loud/soft) switch. Love the noise in tunnels.

To those that wrench on their Porsches themselves, spend the extra cash and buy a cordless ratchet. I’ve been using my 3/8 Milwaukee for years now and I love it. Sure there’s times when it might not fit the application due to the head size, but that’s what all the different types of extensions are for.

You think this is possible with just a pair of low profile car ramps? I have a 991.1 GT3 and just bought the Sharkwerks center delete. All i'm missing is that fancy lift xD Also, seeing where you guys drive around you probably live quite close to me! (Anderson Township 45230)

The issue with your muffler selection is it doesn't have an H pipe or X pipe. Your will get better sound and possible better horsepower with that design.

@@Roefh No. Tubos extract all energy from the exaust, as you know. Thats why a 2015 supercharged F-Type's exhaust note peaks at 142 bBA, while a 911 Turbo peaks at 97 dBA. Every 10 dBA is an order of magnitude in vibrational energy. So a difference of 40 bBA = 10,000x louder. A F-Type will kill a child or deafen an adult permanently if they are directly exposed for too long, thats why they were toned down over 4different model years and now are a pussy exhaust, though still supercharged so 10-20 dBA better than any shitty Turbo car. And lets not forget, Turbos, brand new, cost $30 to $200 in the retail box. VW probably builds one for $10 or less. Turbo sales is a leading profit center for VW-Porsche because it's such a hillarioulsy cheap, on/off response, 3 sec delayed rubberband solution to zero torque from a tiny engine stuffed in the trunk. Thats why the C8 is a catastrophic fail with a best Dragy app 0-60 worldwide of 4.14 secs. Mid rear engine is a deadend. Thats why the first 99 of 100 cars on the Dragy all time 0-60 leaderboard are front engine.

@@ryliek6832 Right, the GT3 is a 300 ft lb DISGRACE, slow AF and it still sounds like a stuck vacuum cleaner. Slap-on $50 OEM-cost turbos cost a hundred K more, for utter garbage. Christ, VW should just close up shop.
