I use the Yannie method, rose water and vitamin E oil. Fill the bottle half with rose water and half with vitamin E oil. In the winter I add black jamaican castor oil to it as well. Also, I usually add some lavender, patchouli or sage to that mixture. Hope this helps as well. 🦋

I’m a year in with my loc journey and I’m guilty of neglecting my locs😔 I’ve started to see them get dry over the last two months. I was very uneducated when I started my locs. I thought my hair would just grow since it was locced up😭 I’m starting to do more research though and I’m improving 🤎 Thank you for this video. Very helpful!

Hi I'm just a few months locd and I'm learning everyday. I just wanted to know if you use a hooded dryer when doing your hot oil treatment? Thanks alot. Trying to get the healthiest routine for my locs.
@nasyaw
@nasyaw 4 жыл бұрын
@@profe929 my opinion is not to use a dryer. You can put on a wave cap or a shower cap and let the heat from your head do it. You don't want to bake it in and please don't wash out the treatment. The oils need to stay until your next wash. No need to go to a store and get a bunch of products. All that the lady is saying you can make at home. KZfaq it. You will be so surprised how easy and less expensive it is.

My locs were dry because I color treated them and then moved to the dessert where it was bone DRY😓 I noticed that as my hair got older it needed more and more care It’s gotten better now that I’ve started spraying with aloe juice and essential oils and have reincorporated hot oil treatments into my wash routine. I love rose water...and I have castor, Grapeseed oil and essential oils (lavender, rosemary and lemon grass) on my scalp directly...then run it through my hair (on wash days...which can be 3 weeks in between)... But I do rinse my hair when I shower if I do it in the morning instead of at night so I don't have a wet bed head.

Then, I seal with Apricot oil mixed with a few essential oils. I wash weekly, and clarify and do steam treatments at least monthly. Drinking enough water helps very much as well.

Save your money and make it yourself. You can get some rose peddles out of your yard and buy some distilled water put in a pot bring to a boil. Turn off stove let it sit. Water will turn light red. Boom rose water. Wild growth oil. Just get a bottle and add different oils in it including jojoba oil and vitamin E and boom wild growth oil.

Also when washing your hair and or retwisting let it air dry instead of a dryer. You must put a loc sock on your hair at night. The natural heat from your head will moisturize your hair. Also be careful of the shampoo your using on your hair. It can dry it out. Be mindful of what you use to retwist. Anything that has alcohol in it will dry your hair out. You can retwist with rose water and oil.

My locs are dry due to coloring them. I don't tie them up at night due to migraines so I have used a satin pillowcase and have no problem with breakage. I also swear by Design essentials aloe/peppermint scalp tonic, due to my very sensitive scalp. I RINSE my hair whenever it needs it. I fight dryness by using aloe vera juice, spray leave in conditioner, and a light essential oil ( I love almond oil)! When i rinse/wash my locs i squeeze the water out and let them air dry until the next day, I never apply anything until they are fully dry because my hair holds water. After my locs are dry i lightly spritz the ends with leave in conditioner and apply oil, this keeps me from over doing it because if I apply too much oil and it gets on my scalp, it itches like crazy!

What do you mean? It sounds like more than dry scalp, have you gotten your scalp/hair checked out by a professional?

People need to hydrate their bodies which has a direct effect on dryness.

What would you recommend for itching? I’ve tried tea tree oil to help with the itching but it made my hair extremely dry and flaky 😫

Davonte Ruckr tea tree oil made my scalp really flaky and itchy too. I use plain organic coconut oil and that has been amazing. It’s expensive but I buy it from the wholesale club and it lasts forever. Give it a try, comes from the grocery store just make sure you get the raw organic one that’s safe for skin and hair.

I squeeze a generous amount of peppermint oil on my scalp about once a week and massage it over my whole head. It's cooling and you can feel it working more than any of the numerous products I've tried. Haven't had the dry itchy scalp in months.

U can try aloe vera water and an essential oil mix and castor oil. Everyone's hair is different.

Are you using regular water? Try rosewater or Orange blossom water. I found orange blossom water more moisturizing. And oil scalp lightly just once a week no more than twice. Wild Growth oil is excellent for me because it's not heavy
