Hermitcraft 9 Episode 7: 20,000 GLASS BLOCK STORM!

Күн бұрынHermitcraft season 9 episode 7! We start out big with our Minecraft let's play ep 7 on the Hermitcraft 9 server with a massive starter treehouse base. The design of the survival base will be elven-themed. Once we complete the treehouse, I'll build my dream Minecraft build.
Today's episode starts out on the top of a massive pillar of diamonds from all the off-camera mining I've done as we sign up for the Hermitcraft Easter Egg Hunt. We go to all the Hermit's starter bases and hide eggs shaped to look like our skins. Also, we finish the massive villager trading hall Tango Grian and I have been building together. We build a mega hurricane storm cloud of the ship. I hope you like the design of the ship with all the cargo containers and the storm cloud made of over 20,000 glass blocks. I love the rust! As for the scaling issue that you pointed out, why not try using steps or slabs and less standard blocks to make the rust details more detailed for a smaller space? That might help keep the rust SMALL. Plus also when rust is corrosive enough, the rust warps the surface around it and cracks and breaks apart the metal. stairs would be perfect for that!

The build reminds me of the time in season 8 when Grian said something like, how Scar can paint in minecraft with blocks. Scar is an absolute genius with any build.

I live on the East coast so I've seen my fair share of hurricanes and this was absolutely amazing. The whole build is stunning. I hope the bug is fixed seen as well. Keep the rust. I’m hopeful that they are all taking care of themselves. Have seen many content producers (hermitcrafters, but also wadzee and a few others) describe being burned our after producing so much content the past 2 years and being under extra scrutiny with more eyeballs on their feeds during the pandemic. As one of those many newer viewers who discovered hermitcraft during the lockdown, sending all my appreciation to Scar and to everyone who has given us so much fun and joy 👍👍

Agreed. It seems like season 8 was a nightmare for all of them due to the different things they were attempting and the timetable they gave themselves for it. Seeing them just have fun with things and, more to the point, focus on having fun *together* without worrying about rushing into building this or completing that is wonderful.

Another aspect I really enjoy this season is that the whole market system has kind of fallen off a bit and in its place, the hermits have decided to just help each other out instead. Gives a very friendly and healthy community vibe. I wish the real world would take some notes lol.

For the Diamond Pillar, break one layer every time you make a silly mistake (and/or die) while playing but try to get it to build height by the end of the season. 😂

I am absolutely loving this storm cloud, it's gorgeous and enormous. however I was super surprised that the white perimeter around the lake wasn't made into a rollercoaster because it's almost the perfect shape for it. however that cloud is phenomenal.

I think the rust could look good, but maybe it would make more sense if it's closer to the water, since that's what oxidizing it or something? The storm looks absolutely incredible by the way man! Love the effect where it's light from top and dark from bottom, accurate to real life storms as well!

Wholesome easter egg jokes aside, that storm is glorious and so is the aging on the ship, really gives it character. Just a suggestion, given that you've added that hole in the ship, why not extend the hurricane funnel down a bit, using cobwebs to simulate wispy wind? As for lightning, glass panes would work well or if you guys play with storms, add a couple lightning rods to the ship. I believe they can go through webs if you replace some of the inner storm for more area for lightning to go through. Great content, hope all is well in your life and take whatever time you need. Gilded Blackstone is rarest technically. Lowest amount per chunk. It’s definitely not the hardest to find though.

@@JacobParker1 If you count non-collectable blocks that spawn naturally you can actually get a glitched pig spawner in some worlds. (It happens when a treasure chest attempts to spawn right on a skeleton/zomie/spider dungeon spawner. Which is incredibly rare

ohhh... like.... put a layer of darker blue tinted glass under the water matching the clouds above to make a shadow effect, when looking down from above it'll be noticeable. due to the whole bottom being the same block

The reason that there is a “ocean” in the first place is that they don’t want raid farms to spawn around the villagers so making it it glass would make the farm worse even though that idea is awesome

I love sand. It makes a great elevator block, doesn’t randomly turn into flint, and, best of all, you can make glass out of it. I love building out of glass, especially in survival because I can see through my glass walls, but still be safe

Sad to see the hurricane getting hit with rendering issues when using a higher render distance, however I will say that the forced low render distance to keep it proper actually really fits the build in terms of the fog that then covers the surrounding area

For the diamond tower: Keep it. Only shave layers off, when you need the diamonds. While we're at it, maybe build something around it like a small shrine for the "holy 'self-growing' tower of wealth". With a message for other hermits along the lines of "whoever touches the tower, will be cursed with eternal misery". Would be kinda funny to have this giant open-air purse right beside the vault of mumbo, which supposedly noone will ever know, what riches it contains.

The eye of the storm looks awesome! I do hope you go back and add lightning because that would be awesome! A tornado would be a cool addition, as well. 16:10 The rust needs to stay. It adds a lot of character to the ship and it makes sense because it's being battered by the storm

You've absolutely outdone yourself this time, Scar! That storm looks incredible. Glad you got to see your brother again, too. My brother and I have gotten a lot closer as we've gotten older and I can't imagine at this point not seeing him for years at a time. It's a pretty important bond to have imo

Agreed. I have 3 older sisters and a brother in law. The middle 2 are in college and the fourth is a nurse in Connecticut because my brother in law is in the Navy. He’s currently on a submarine and the navy wasn’t able to reveal where he is or when exactly he’ll be back.

The cloud looks awesome!!!! I dunno how feasible it’d be for the layers, and it’d probably be too dark a shade for the storm, but what if you added tinted glass at parts of the storm so that it adds a darker, more overcast feel to it all-? Overall it looks awesome and I love seeing it in other hermits views too!!!!!

@KK Shorts I don’t know much about videos but just try to keep the entire video interesting, try not to explain things for very long, try to keep the audience listening and on their toes. Also, make sure the sound quality is good. I hope this helps.

I love the addition of the cargo containers, it just makes perfect sense, I just think that you need to add some colour variety in there, maybe do a red one using redstone blocks instead of emeralds, blue with lapis, etc.

Whilst container variety could look nice, I think the purpose of them being green is because of the raid farm/storm that's dropping emeralds on the ship. On the ship that inevitably is the cause of delivering those emeralds (hermits trading with the villagers). I really like the story element to it🙂

The rust on the ship looks great. It makes the ship feel more real. I love the cloud, it looks amazing! I can’t wait to see Grian and Tango see it for the first time.

grian saw it once already i think, he saw that the villagers had dirt in front of them and flew out and saw the ship. tango might have already seen it too since the walls that were keeping water out of the redstone are gone, but they probably havent seen the stormcloud yet

You could add some barnacles to the side of the ship using black stone buttons and algae using glow lichen love the vids and love to see you happy
