We have been eagerly anticipating having a go on the Hero Xtreme 160R. The bike made quite an impression on us when we took a short spin earlier this year at the Hero CIT and now that it is finally here we can answer some burning questions like how good is the ride, how quick is the bike and most importantly, can it bring the fight to the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V? The Xtreme 160R was launched at an attractive price of Rs 99,950 for the single-disc trim and Rs 1,03,500 for the twin-disc variant (ex-showroom Delhi), making it one of the most affordable bikes in the class. Hero dealers across the country have begun receiving the bike and deliveries of the new Xtreme 160R have commenced.
The Hero Xtreme 160R is a new bike that has been developed from scratch at the Hero CIT. The first indication of the new bike was given at EICMA 2019 when Hero showed off the Xtreme 1.R Concept and we are glad to see that there is very little deviation from the concept design. It looks sharp and compact. The Xtreme is powered by a 163cc single-cylinder air-cooled two-valve engine that produces 15.23PS and 14Nm. Hero’s newest engine is the most powerful one amongst the two-valve lot, only the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 make more power.

lol...in reality Xtreme 160R sales will be more than Apache 160 BS6. Top end performance is not matter for everyone. Which kid go to race everyday on highway?... For men Price, Mileage, look and mid range performance in cities is important...

Believe me Hero xtreme 160r is best bike good power more mileage and very low maintenance cost and 0 vibration at 100km above speed also ..super package 🤩🤩🤩🤩 value for money 💰 .... I say ine one word It's sport design of honda Unicorn and honda unicorn is classic design ..hero xtreme is sporty plus mileage bike ..

Bought xtreme 160R yesterday.. i like this motorcycle.. ride quality is good. Motorcycle is light weight coz of that you can enjoy the performance. 160cc segment is meant for commuting purpose not for racing so you can cruise easily at 85kmph. If someone likes racing then better go for cbr250, Gixxer 250, ninja and higher cc motorcycles coz they are meant for pure performance. Hero xtreme will take Hero back to its glorious era of Karizma.. Don't go by numbers on paper.if anyone wants to buy please take a test drive of all the vehicles .choose that motorcycle which brings smile and happiness on your face . It maybe any brand. Just go by your heart. Finally it's a good motorcycle. Hero delivered it. Hero means trust. Jai Hind

On the other hand hero is doing well with its daily commuter and now xtreme 160r looks better... If u have any experience with gixxer 2020 and fz v3 2020, compare it with xtreme n please share it here.

Apache is best as it has eveything that this bike offers. In addition to that you also get better top end performance and a signature Apache Sound. 😍😘🥰

Top end performance are Honda cbr250 , Gixxer 250 , ninja and higher cc bikes. 160cc segment is meant for daily use and occasional long rides. Top end and all can happen in highways. But still these bikes are meant for that purpose.

I found a thing bit odd which is not addressed in this review.. the tail section looks slightly short if looked from the side.. i feel it needs to little bit longer.. Also why they have given rear Tyre mudguard even though tail guard is long enough and at many points in the video I could see the tyre mudguard being too close to the tail guard.. may its just me but it looked odd

Thak kick start gives it an edge over apache as it's a major emergency feature. I remember when my stunner battery wire removed then I could manage to ride to mechanic until he re-established it. Otherwise, I would have to drag it manually.

Are you looking for performance or are you looking for features and comfortablity? Buy xtreme if you are looking for features, but if you want top speed buy the 160 4v.

Same feel.have naman.hero destroyed CBZ REAL COMFORT LEVEL IN THIS BIKE very disappointed.. i v 2012 version cbz ..as u know previous version xtreme sports has best pillion.comfort and grab rail. HERO DOING.SAME MISTAKE IN CASE OF CBZ this time pillion section no grab rail.. no tail guard

I don't get two points from Indian bike manufacturers 1. Why set a forward riding position for an underpowered bike 2. Impractical pillion seats. As if its a superbike, expecting riders to go solo ? Buyers looking at this price point badly need comfort and practicality. We have to forgo the comfort part. Hope these manufacturers stop bloated designs just for attraction purpose and produce matured products
