I don't know if you would necessarily call this a review, it's more of my quick thoughts, but hopefully you guys enjoy it. I can't wait to make videos on this series, I have many videos planned that are coming soon!

Percy Jackson + MovieFlame = *prefection*

Let's take a moment to realize and appreciate that Piper and Leo became friends normally. They didn't get put together for quests and became friends. No they're both troubled teens on a wilderness school that became friends guarded by a blood thirsty satyr always craving for fights and war as their pe teacher.

One thing I liked about this series is that Leo Valdez was the first Latino male lead in a fantasy series I read as a kid

Percy looking Nico dead in the eye while cliffhanging and saying/demanding «lead them to the other side!» is my all time favourit Percy-moment.

Tartarus was absolutely incredible. Seeing the two fight through literal hell left me on the edge of my seat for the entire book

One of my favourite parts of the series was when Piper mentioned a hole in a dam, and Percy said ‘We’ve got a dam hole,’ and smiled. Then he said ‘Inside joke’. The fact that only Percy (and the readers) got that joke was… just perfect 👌

My favourite couple is Percabeth. fact that Percy loved Annabeth so much and didn't want to be separate from her ever agin that he just let go from the cliff and fell with her into literally hell. He has gone through hell for her. Damn that's good romance

If only the cursed child was like this 😢

The Tartarus journey between Annabeth and Percy give me...mixed emotions? Everytime I read it I’m terrified for their safety even though I know they make it out, but at the same time I love how they relied on each other??? It scares the absolute crap out of me but also makes me so happy I-

Rick Riordan was a major part of my childhood and still is. I am ecstatic to know that one of my favorite youtubers loves this series too. I have never been so excited in my life to watch this video.

I read this series before the original series and the Heroes of Olympus was not only able to stand on its own but I didn’t realize that there was a prequel until I was looking for new books to read. I absolutely loved this series

theres another percy jackson book called “ the trials of apollo” its a continuation of the last book and they say a little bit about percy and annabeth

i like how Leo and Calypso didn't like each other at first. to me, it shows that her love for him is real, and not part of the curse that was put on her. with Percy and the others that came before him, she was attracted to them right away, but that didn't happen with Leo.

SPOILER ALERT: Percy: *annoys Jason* Jason: oh go to Tartarus Percy: fine. *Goes to Tartarus and comes back* ya happy now? Jason: *speechless*

I am happy that no one was in room when I saw last chapter was from Leo's view. I am actually very happy that I have been careful on not to read it in front of many people, cause i know I was doing weird faces, noises and movements.

I'm sooooo glad you've fallen in love with the Riordanverse, MovieFlame! I also felt The Heroes of Olympus series did so many things better than the Percy Jackson series. The Heroes of Olympus promoted diversity and showed romance and character development not seen in most fantasy and children's literature. I'm sure you'll enjoy The Trials of Apollo, the Kane Chronicles, and the Magnus Chase trilogy! Rick Riordan is a genius! Nuff said!

One thing that I loved that wasn't related to the plot was finally getting to see how other people viewed Percy. In PJO most of his decisions make sense because he is explaining them to us, so it was nice to see how other people viewed him without his explainations.

Nico is my favorite character ever and I remember when I read the Cupid scene for the first time and audibly gasped. It made such a big difference having that sort of representation in my favorite book series :)

It felt so good seeing Calypso get the justice she deserved. Rly nice ending

Percy and Annabeth's relationship was pretty great and one part that was super funny was when Annabeth judo flipped Percy upon being reunited. They grew so much from being 12. Each character grew as heroes and individuals. They learned to overcome so much and formed a pretty epic team that never gave up. According to another series that Riordan wrote, Jason Grace dies saving Apollo who was turned into a mortal as punishment for listening to Octavian in Heroes of Olympus.

That one time percy and annabeth fell asleep together and the whole crew was like "Did they?!..." was such a great moment.

It’s so nice to not have Annabeth and Percy NOT have intense crushes on each other, and having them actually together and never breaking up

warning! This comment mostly consists of me totally geeking out about the Riordanverse This is the first time I heard someone put why I love this series so much into words. But for a second there I thought I was going to have to sit through yet another heroes of Olympus video without a mention of my favorite character of all time, but then you mentioned reyna, so I really respect you for that. Her and Nico’s friendship is probably one of my favorite part of the Riordanverse, and that hug at the end is one of my favorite moments of all time. but unlike most people, I didn’t fall in love with reyna because of her connection to Nico. I love Nico, but reyna will always take the top spot for me. She is just such a great and criminally underrated character. Judging from this, I think you will really enjoy trials of Apollo. Trials also doesn’t feel like a cash grab at all. There were a lot of loose threads left in heroes and trials ties them up nicely. You get a lot more development from those characters. You probably won’t read this comment, so I’m going to go ahead and say you should enjoy one of these couples while you well can. Also, no one come after me for this, but speaking of character development, trials has arguably the best and most complex character arc in the Riordanverse. And also, in my opinion, one of the most developed friendship. Anyway, I could geek out about trials of Apollo and reyna all day. Reply if you would like to join me. PS: trials contributes a lot to reyna being my favorite character. I have a huge bias towards anything that has to do with Reyna Ramirez Arellano

I was lukewarm toward Nico and this series turns him into a favorite of mine. House of Hades is probably my favorite of the series and Leo was definitely my favorite of all the new characters. Percy is still my number one cause he was the character I saw myself in the most. Especially when it came to my sense of humor, same goes with Leo, but they had extra things that added my enjoyment of them.

This series is amazing. Rick really went out on a limb by switching character POVs throughout chapters. The only other book I’ve seen try this (which it achieved amazingly), is Refugee by Alan Gratz, which was released after HOO. What I’m trying to say is, Rick executed this greatly, and I’m so happy you’ve read and enjoyed it! My least favorite characters in HOO are probably Piper and Jason. I know that’s unpopular, but it’s just how I feel. I personally like the Riordanverse more than the Wizarding World. Also, not trying to self promo but I just put out a Riordanverse video. Anyway, if you read this whole rant/long comment/lots of typing/I don’t really know, then thanks.

What I like about the series is how Rick introduce new and old characters in separate books, and then have them all gathering in the third book, which makes us more exciting for their interactions.

Honestly, the depth of all the characters and their story arcs is absolutely awesome in this series.

Percabeth is the ultimate couple. Never forget that Percy turned down literal immortality for her when they weren't even dating yet. That moment solidified the fact that they were endgame.

I just finished the heroes of olympus series after reading the percy jackson series right before it. I actually love both equally and have to say in the first book of HOO i had to really get used to the new writing style but ended up loving it! I honestly never thought about it as kind of episodes but it makes total sense. Thanks for the fun review!

I loved HOO just as much as PJO (I actually read HOO first because I accedentially bought it thinking it was percy jackson) Nico telling Percy about his crush on him made me laugh out loud, haha 😂

In the ending of the Mark of Athena when annabeth fought arachne I was genuinly on edge at i think that was the most thrill i ever felt reading a book. There was also the part where Jason and Percy were drowning. Its my favourite book of the series.

Well, you have now inspired me to re-read 3 book series now: Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Heroes of Olympus. You are very good at outlining the best parts of a series and every single time I've took your advice to read these books (or in my case re-read), I was blown away how awesome they are. All of these books I read years ago when I was still quite young and had an undeveloped mind. I wasn't able to appreciate how good these series were and I just rushed through them until the ending and often didn't understand the plot points. But now, I am truly enlightened how awesome these books are. It's almost like I read them again for the first time and I am now a mega-fan of these series. I guess this is a very long thank you.

Read the Kane Chronicles next. It's an egyptian series and it is amazing.

I actually got into the percy jackson universe through heroes of olympus (skipping the first series), and in some ways it enhanced the story. Especially when reading from the perspective of Jason, Leo, and Piper in TLH because the stories of percy told by other campers made him seem that much more powerful, impressive, and mysterious. Then actually seeing percy's heroism and power in SoN made me fall in love with the character and the series.

I agree with everything you said! I didn’t realize when I was younger but I also liked this series more than the original, and I was obsessed with the original series as a kid! I reread this series over last summer and that’s all I would talk about, and it was cool to see how much my appreciation grew for the series now that I’ve learned more about good story structure, characters, plot, etc. from reading more older well written books. I literally cannot express how much I love this series because there’s not enough time in the world for me to describe all the ways I love it ❤️❤️
