I ship Caleo bc it’s the only one that depicts having problems. Percabeth is cute but it’s to idealistic for me. Calypso and Leo are proof that love is hard and that if you love someone you fight. It just feels the most real and attainable so that’s why it’s my otp and not something unattainable like Percabeth

I 90% agree with you on all most of the ships, but I just love Jasper so much, they just didn't get enough development, only like, idk, a single book, literally. Also, I would like to see a (SPOILERS FOR TRIALS OF APOLLO AND THE BURNING MAZE PLEASE TURN BACK IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT THE BIGGEST SPOILER OF THE SERIES - so far-) get-together for Jasper just before (TURN BACK) Jason... you know, dies (there, I said it, don't make me say it again, why did he have to die?) and kinda... idk, I'd prefer Jasper to get-together in the Mark of Athena or later. Then, it would be just perfect.

I do like the Caleo ship but like you said, definitely agree it should have been more drawn out. There’s nothing wrong with the “love at first sight” trope, but when the foundation of the relationship is toxic, you need more of a lead-up to a strong relationship than just a spontaneous kiss. Although the swearing on the River Styx was annoying, it was kinda realistic. Leo is young and has just found his first love so I can totally get why he’d make stupid mistakes (still shouldn’t have done it though!! Smh Leo, be smarter)! Also speaking of Calypso, I definitely didn’t ship Percy with her, but I did think it was cool how Rick Riordan drew a parallel between Percy and Odysseus. I wish he had done that with a different character instead though because c’mon Percy! Really? He’s our OG favorite! He’s supposed to be perfect! Never understood the hate for Rachel a lot of the PJO fandom has. Like, we all knew reading the first five books that Percy and Annabeth were going to end up together. It wasn't exactly subtle the way it was set up. I'm not saying Percabeth is a bad ship, but the fact it was so obvious is what made the love triangle with Rachel interesting. She and Percy really appreciated each other and have similar personalities with some top tier chemistry. Ships aside, Rachel was always one of my favorite characters in this universe and I think it's pretty lame how she and Percy never(?) interacted after the first series. Come at me, Percabeth stans.

I personally think that all these ships are great for first time relationships but they will grow up and experience different things and meet different people so Leo and Calypso might not end up together and the same goes for Percy and Annabeth and Frank and Hazel. The friendships are awesome and love them. But realistically the chances that they stay together are not that good.

i used to not ship calleo, but i do now because i no longer have feelings toward him. however if he asked me on a date i would say yes. one of the reason i had never shipped it was because it felt rushed

TBH, discarding a ship because of time together is kinda harsh in my opinion, since it is common to this kind of book to fell in love or at least develop feeling for someone even more when you are fighting besides them. I think that Jasper didn't have enough time or cute moments to really develop. Percy and Annabeth were the OG ship but they even had the time where they got caught sleeping together on the Argo II and then kissing before they became earthborns. I feel like Jasper never really had moments like that, plus Jason never really felt like a good boyfriend in ways.

I think the only reasoning I disagree with is it being inter species and that being the reason to dock tyson and Ella. I mean tyson is the literal spawn of interspecies union. And grover and juniper as different species. Besides we have all seen weirder, this is greek mythology we are talking about lol. I automatically sink couples that are the wrong sexuality. It really bothers me that no one would EVER do a ship of an out gay guy with a woman and say, "they're perfect for you that's who you need to date, not your boyfriend." But somehow it's cute to take a straight guy and pair him with another dude and say f* your sexuality. This would be better for you. Nah... that isn't fair. Respect everyone's sexuality, it isn't a choice and not every straight guy is secretly bisexual or closeted. It just seems so uncomfortable and wrong because no one would ever tell a gay guy or girl that they should have ended up in a straight relationship.

I heard that Caleo are split in Trials of Apolo which is literally the only thing keeping me from reading that series, pretty much the only time I have been disappointed in Riordan. Piper x Calypso. and i know they're never even mentioned in the same paragraph much less actually met in canon, but a friend found a fanfic on AO3 in which Piper gets stranded on Ogygia and it's so gay and so cute. definitely one of my otps.and unlike the other two Calypso ships, Piper is stranded for multiple months rather than just a week.
