"Heroic" wounded officer brings an end to deadly Denver-area shooting rampage

She was shot in the abdomen, one of THE most painful places to be shot, and she STILL was able to return fire and disable the shooter. The only downside to this is the criminal lived, but the officer… she ROCKED in those moments.

Well one of the primary reasons that mental asylums were mostly abolished (and the ability to put people into such institutions were very much diminished), was the truly staggering amounts of rape, abuse, rape, unnecessary medications, rape, non-crazy people being put into and kept prisoner, and not sure if I mentioned it but also a lot of rape.

Police where the ones to request social workers first. They didn’t want to deal with all the suicide cases and heavy mental health cases as majority not trained. They would still work but hand over some cases to social workers.

Social workers were first requested by police officers as they don’t want to have to deal all the suicide cases as majority aren’t trained to deal. They would still work but have social workers deal with the heavy mental health cases. It has been done in Virginia or Maryland before according to a homeless person. Police were called to an attempt suicide scene then handed over the situation to social workers.

1. Most of the responders are trolls, it wouldn't matter what CBS reported, they would complain. 2. The rest don't want truth, they want information that confirms the biased information and hateful media they consume everyday. What you're seeing is the reaction of people who have been swimming in toxic sewage so long that water seems like acid to them. Instead of the officer, they praise the weapons used, ignoring that the weapons both caused and ended the tragedy. @@danarosesturgeon To have figured out Paddock before he acted, the government would have to had tracked his gun and ammo purchases which, thanks to the NRA, is not allowed. What information that the federal government is allowed, cannot be collected or accessed by computer because the NRA is fearful that would allow the government to take their guns. Personally, I do not share that fear. People that are law abiding will do fine. People making threats, it would be good to know if they are stockpiling guns and ammo. I realize that this is one in many thousands but with computer, we can red flag suspicious activity. Not unlike the credit card companies do when they see purchases from Nigeria. You'll get a text or call asking if you happen to be in Nigeria ordering 5 laptops and 6 Iphones.

How do Americans cope with these shootings that happen almost 1/week? As someone from a country(Finland)where there are lots of guns but very few shootings it's hard to imagine being afraid all the time that some crazy person might gun you down at any time.

Good on the cop for saving people from this nuttcase…look my only thing is, that’s his job. If he failed to do his job, for instance by running away he would be considered negligent, which in turn could get him fired. So I don’t believe heroic is the right word. A civilian saving another civilian or even a cop would be heroic. A coo doing his job is just a job well done. So no discredit here, just not a “hero”

Remember parkland school shooting with the school officer hiding outside the school in fear? He got his job back, and the police union bothered protecting such a worm so acts like these deserve credit, she is absolutely a hero.

Just because a cop puts on a badge doesn’t mean their life is worth less. Sure, a cops DUTY is to protect and serve but no where in their job description does it say their lives should be sacrificed for citizens safety. They should do all they can to stop the threat but anything involving their lives being sacrificed for the protections of others is nothing short of heroic. ANYONE GIVING UP THEIR SAFTEY FOR OTHER PROTECTION IS HEROIC, badge or not. “If he failed to do his job, for instance running away” that’s more then failing his job, that’s cowardice in face of their sworn duty. Your talking about the other side of the coin from heroic, a cop can fail for many reasons but not jumping in front of a bullet isn’t failure of duty. A cop is not sworn to save your life nor should they be, they are sworn to do everything they can UP TO but not including risking their lives, if they do choose to risk their lives to save someone, it’s on the officers decision to do so, not their sworn oath or requirement from their dept.
