This video explains how to use Reflexive Verbs (Reflexivverben). These are verbs that have a direct object which is identical to the subject doing that verb. You can think of it as being REFLECTED back at yourself!
At GCSE, these verbs always impress examiners, and will help to make your work stand out!
Here are the reflexive verbs used in this video:
* sich beeilen = to hurry
* sich entspannen = to relax
* sich erholen = to recover
* sich konzentrieren = to concentrate
* sich verletzen = to get hurt
* sich waschen = to wash yourself
* sich anziehen = to get dressed / put on [clothes]
My favourite one is 'sich ausruhen' (to chill out), because you can use it in the sentence 'ich ruhe mich aus, wenn ich...' (I chill out when I...), and it fits any speaking or writing topic! Give it a go, but remember to BOOT the verb after 'wenn'!
