Hertfordshire Village Walks: Buntingford to Anstey

This walk takes from the small Hertfordshire town of Buntingford across country to Hare Street and Great Hormead before heading up to the historic village of Anstey. Here I some fascinating pieces of history, some ancient some more recent. In Buntingford I visit the UK's oldest brick-built Anglican church, which has a remarkable brass plaque with the finest engraving you're ever likely to see.

Hello David, A Great walk. I very recently did a similar walk; Buntingford to Royston via Ansty (which includes walking through the old airfield! You wher lucky above Hare Street that the path existed accross the field! When we did it we had to walk around the edge as the farmer had not re-established the path!! Unfortunately a common issue. Please keep upthe good videos

Hello David. I came across your excellent videos by pure chance and have been catching up with them. Hertfordshire is a very underestimated county in my view. Like many people I have traversed the county for years when using the A1, A10, A505 etc., while travelling back and forth to my home in West Suffolk. As your videos demonstrate, it really is worthwhile to stop and look at the towns and villages just off the major roads. Not to mention the very fine pubs to be enjoyed.
