Peace and love to you I've been through the same, its been a couple of years now and it feels like yesterday I am beginning now to try and stay active but its a slow start when you feel up to it try to do the same (I already have a stationary bike and I bought a 400$ treadmill on the web I don't even think I can make it around the block)

Hi Lisa- My goodness it's difficult. I took care of my mom for 2 1/2 years in my home. It was the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life, yet the most rewarding. I remember as she really started to decline that I went into what I call a robotic state. Separating the nurse and the patient from the mom and daughter was so very difficult. Knowing what was coming up and being emotionally whipped, it was the only way I could handle it. I was silly enough to tell myself that I don't want her to hurt anymore, seeing my own mortality so to speak, her quality of life is gone, that I could deal with it easier when she passed. Silly me. It felt like a gut punch and that someone ripped my heart out at the same time. That was 17 years ago. I write this to you to tell you I get it. That the pain lessens as time passes but the missing her never goes away. It felt like I would never be okay. You will be okay. I promise. I wish only the best for you and your partner going forward. I look forward to seeing you again. Until then, be good to yourself. ❤ -Vickie
