As much as I love a 19/23, this conceals so much better in a IWB leather holster. With the shorter grip w/ the 10 round mag, virtually no print carrying at 3:oo. Replaced my 23 as my everyday carry. Love it.

Steve H. Agreed, been carry my 19 recently with a kydex holster made by MK-Tek, gotta say I love it. Conceals the 19 very well although I’m thinking about switching it up for a 30S

Hey Hickok! I just bought my Glock 30sf a few days ago; my first firearm! It came with two 10 round mags, and from your videos on the G30, you always said that that last round in the 10 or the 9 mag would always be the hardest to get in so you just load it with one less. So while i was loading my mags for the first time i was definitely aware that the last round was the hardest. I was like "man, Hickok wasn't fooling", but after messing around with it for a little while, and after finally getting the mag loader to work with me, i was finally able to pretty easily get the 10th round in on both mags, and now they don't give me any trouble from loading all 10 rounds. I know all your G30 videos are more than 5 years old, so i don't know if Glock changed anything about the mags over the years, but I just wanted to let you know my personal experience. Thanks for all your informative and entertaining videos sir!

Mag springs just need some breaking in. Last one is tough unless you have strong hands. I managed to stuff all 17 9mm lugers in my G17 by hand first time shooting it. Loaders make it real easy. Got my eye on a G30SF next. 😍

As always, a remarkable resource for all things that go BANG! I'm about the same age as Hickok and have "evolved" over the years in my choice of guns. I'm the more senior of the shooters I work with and have become the go-to guy for gun questions. I very recently sold my Glock 36 and bought a 30s for EDC during the Winter months. I enjoyed the concealability of the 36, but it was the only Glock I've ever owned that was ammo sensitive. The 30 s really checks all the boxes for an experienced CCW holder.

From military/LE firearms training, we're taught not to use the slide lock to release the slide, as this can wear down the metal that locks it open. It also creates more of a "slingshot" action that can decrease the likelihood of a failure to feed.

Excellent review. I bought a G30S, it sure was hard to find in stock. I paid a premium of $629 plus tax here in New York. Definetly an easy gun to carry. Glock has started to catch up on thinner slides in .45 with the 30S and G41.

thanks for all your great videos . i carried a Glock 30 for 15 years or better i had 2 complaints with it the big block slide and the fact that when i would try to hit a small or far away target i tend to really relax and let the gun surprise me and not fight the recoil . When i was young my dad would load a 44 mag revolver with 3 rounds and every time i hit the empty chamber i would nose dive. so i learned to relax and just let the muzzle rise and became a pretty good shot . with my 30 i would get failure to feed . i recently picked up a 30s and i love it thinner allows me to carry inside the waist band and relaxed limp wrist it feeds. and the sf frame is a better fit for me slightly more recoil but in a good way for me at 25 yards. i can shoot this 30s just about as good as i can the colt gold cup i was brought up shooting .

Yes sir, I had to stand on the 10th round going in the mags at the beginning but not now after some use. Great pistol that does a great job with some use like any other pistol. Pretty accurate too! Thanks for exhibiting your experience with it in this great video, appreciate you.

I've never had any problems loading 10 in the mag, but always use my Uplula loader. Great lil CCW, and as always, thanks Hickok, best wishes, Mike.

Always load my 9 and 10 round mags to full capacity, never had an issue. And that's with +1.

ive had issues. 13 rounders are fine. the slide barely can feed the first round and the mags are hard to insert

I have to say i love my 30s with the night sights, had to get pearce grips for the mags it came with but overall i just love they way it handles when shooting. now im just waiting on a holster from crossbreed.

Please do another video on the glock 30 s. I would love to see your latest opinions on it after years of ownership and newer competition going up against it. I've recently come full circle and landed back on the G26 and G30S .

@@jeffbbyevo03 I still rely on mine. I have other guns, but I trust my G26 and G30s and do as well with them as anything within their limits. When something works, what more can you ask for? I think of it like I think of my old s&w revolvers, pump shotguns, AR-15, or anything else that has proven itself. I carry outside the waistband and do fine. I also rotate others, but my Glocks are in the rotation. When it's cold outside, it's G30s season, or anytime of year when I feel the threat level has increased.

I sold it to somebody who needed a pistol. He's still using it in security work. He DID have to replace something, as I recall. I think it was a sight problem. I'll ask and give an update.

Walked into my LGS last week and there one sat. It was like it was just waiting for me to come and buy it ... so I did. Nice Glock. Need to break it in because the slide is really tight. Very tight spring. It also fits in my G19 Blackhawk Serpa so it's one less holster I have to buy. Keep up the good work Hickok

We love your videos and would like to know the brand name of your loader. It looks different than what came with our G-30. And yes getting that 10th round in there isn’t worth the effort, especially if it’s got that tendency to hang up. Glock needs to engineer tweak that out so it works better. Great idea you shared on just carrying G21 magazines. So yes we’d like to know what loader that is you are using so we can purchase one. Thanks so much Mr. Hickok45!

Exactly why this may be my next gun. Have CCW for NYS and have a Shield 9mm, Glock 23C, and Ruger LCP. Would love to trade 23 for 19 add a 30S and 26. Just have Glocks.

No problem,I see them in most of the gun shops here in FL,but if you can't find them where your at,just PM Hickok and I am sure he will tell you where to find them.They remind me of the non-slip deck strips we used to put on our skateboards back in my younger days!!

over the years, we've found a couple of "magic loads" for reducing recoil. most often it seems a heavy bullet with a fast burning powder like bullseye, clays or accuate 2 yeild a nice soft shooting round.

And I fully, totally agree about the "feel" of what you are shooting. The heft of the pistol, the recoil and feel of the round you are shooting all contribute. You could IMMEDIATELY see the difference when you shot 230gr after all that 200gr. A lot of ppl dont get that part about the feel one gets with shooting in general. It counts for a lot.

I love my Glock M30s it has become my go to for carry , working on being able to shoot it like you do , I”Gotta ways to go “ great video of a great firearm very reliable, I agree on the magazine I buy the flush baseplate from Glock as hard to find in store, and yes the full size magazines are great

As I said, I appreciate both, the same way I can appreciate most genres of music in greater or lesser degree, from Jazz and Blues to Rap, Dubstep or Heavy Metal.
